I always use my same details with no problems

Tempting just for the Christmas edition.

Still more than I would pay for it.

You know fine the schedules are going to consist of 38 depressing episodes every day of Eastenders, Emmerdale, Coronation St, MIdsummer Murders, Strictly Xmas special, a few gameshows with ZZZZZZZZZZ list celebs, at least one James bond film and an Harry Potter season....all mixed in with exactly the same things as every other day. Well, an animated film on BBC1 at 3:10pm on the 25th to spice things up.

How easy is it to cancel?

All done. Think this is the 4th year of doing it. Used same details as previously and no problem.

Very. Just make a note in your diary to cancel the direct debit before the next payment date. No need to contact Buy Subscriptions. Done this 3 times already. I suppose they just hope that many people will forget to cancel which is why they often do this offer.

Thanks, 4th year running of doing this. Cancel every time with no problems.

Tried this. After the first copy, they all got chucked in the bin still in the plastic wrap. Pointless.

Did it for a couple of years but didn't work last year. Entered all my details and then nothing.. never even contacted me to say sod off.

Why does the Marxist Propaganda channel demand a licence fee, when it's the only channel I don't watch?

Why did you buy them if you were only going to throw them in the bin??

I never buy these magazines except begrudgingly at Xmas as it's something of a tradition, and as those 2 are something like £7-8 for the 2, this is a no brainer.

It's worth it just for the Xmas ones, which is what I expect most people are doing it for.

No don't need to contact them. Yes they take your £1 direct debit at the start. They will then write to you about a month before your trial period ends to say they will take forty odd quid for the next X many issues on a certain date. Just make sure you cancel the dd before then. I think you can cancel the dd as soon as they have taken the £1 and you still get your 10 issues.

Can you cancel the Direct Debit immediately after your £1 has been taken?

Or do you have to wait until you've had the 10 magazines?

In my mind, I'm thinking "I'm paying £1 for 10 magazines. Even if I cancel before the first is delivered they still have to deliver the 10", but the cynical part of me reckons they wouldn't deliver anything after the sub was cancelled?

I've had many magazine subscriptions like this including Radio Times and I always cancel the Direct Debit as soon as the first magazine appears through my letterbox and the first payment has been taken. I've never not had the full amount of magazines delivered afterwards.

I had similar fond memories of the old days, when you had to buy Radio Times for BBC stuff and TV Times for the ITV. When the first copy arrived it was clear that, in this day and age, Radio Times is a pointless waste of paper, so the following issues went in the bin.

it is meant for pensioners, who have nothing better to do that read twaddle about TV programmes

did this for the first few years and then the last 2 years ive done this for me, my mum and my sister and they've never set the dd up or sent the magazines at all. Will try again but not holding my breath. voted hot

Managed to bag 12 issues for £1 yesterday but this is still a good deal, voted hot

Thank you OP!

I've gone for this too. Have done this once before and cancelling is easy. People saying this is a pointless waste of paper, what are you using as a tv guide? I've found the virgin guide on my TiVo box not exactly great for searching the guide by day, and not yet found a decent app that suits my needs.
Im not a pensioner.....so also have better things to do than to just read twaddle about TV programs.....

I like Total TV Guide personally, they do a much better job of highlighting actual new broadcasts with nice high contrast NEW labels. There's a lot less junk too, the feature pages are entirely devoted to introducing new TV programs (cast interviews etc.) and not themed holiday suggestions, family anecdotes and the other irrelevance that the Radio Times includes.

My hubby buys top gear magazine every month too. Can you cancel any subscription after the initial payment has been taken? I looked at faq to see if it told you but it didn't say.

£1 quidco has tracked, mad really 10 free issues including the Christmas one.

You don't really need to know what's on day by day any more, just watch anything you want when you want. I'm a pensioner.

sure, no problem

just occasionally a provider will send you the next magazine & pursue you for the missing money when the DD fails - but not buysubscriptions.com or BBC magazines

Just set this up to start in November. Might wait until the Xmas one has been before cancelling the DD or I’ll risk losing a whole pound!!

Excellent! I do this every year, it's completely fine - I just cancel via my online banking into January and it's always fine. That's usually before the last couple of issues come out and they still arrive as they should. Repeat again next Oct/Nov

I've cancelled mine the day the £1 come out of my bank, still got this week's issue so looks like they will carry on sending the remaining magazines.

This has already been posted

Brilliant thanks ordered but some how ordered 3 lots costing me £3:00 will have to cancel two copies tomorrow lol

Is the paper any good as loo roll replacement ? I'll get lots of sheets from 10 issues
