Prolly, but is it worth getting in the car and driving (yeah I'm a lazy sod). How long is the single player campaign?

It's probably about 10 hours if you take your time and do a few side quests and other things, other wise it's around 6-7 hours, it's a decent game, good gfx - ending is crap tho.
I suppose I could go get a burger while I'm there, might make it worth the trip. Though I hate the car park where my nearest store is. Its rammed on a weekend.

If it was on Steam, I'd purchase it now. 'Cos I can sit in my chair eating pizza while it downloads.

Just about worth a fiver.
I could get a burger meal for a fiver so its a toss up. Burger vs Game. I'll see if I can be ar bothered getting in the motor tomorrow. I guess I should reserve it just in case there is a mahoosive demand at this price. If I could get a reduced burger that would solve all my problems (for now).

This is a fair comment. The graphics are potentially the best ever seen on a current gen console. Ending is utter crap.. Most amount of gameplay you will get out of it is about 15 hours if you do *all* the side quests/take your time (like I did).
Bought it last weekend for £7 and completed it over the long weekend in 18hrs. Was very entertaining!
and a burger would take all of 2 minutes to eat, I should go buy it.

So nothing special on a PC then.

Rather good game!
For anyone worried/ about the Games for Windows header on the box, the game actually activates on Steam!
£29.99 on Steam at the moment - bargain! Guess I really need to take a drive tomorrow.
Nice engine, nice art style, potentially interesting premise, good looking environments, nice gun play mechanics - but the game itself is extremely repetitive.

It's obvious they had their budget cut half way through development, and had to bulk out the content with dull & extremely repetitive side quests. Even the main quest feels rushed once you get beyond half way. (not to mention the non-existent ending)

Then there were/are the compatibility issues...... blurg.
Without frankensteined drivers bodged together from multiple releases it was basically impossible for people with AMD gpus to play the game at all for the first 2 months after release.

The save system is also a massive pain in the **** although I don't know if they have fixed that since launch.
It's definitely a good price but the game simply isn't worth owning. The graphics are sub-standard (very poor textures), the levels are incredibly linear (invisible walls everywhere) and the gameplay is very repetitive. Furthermore, the co-op is a disaster - from the appalling netcode to the incredibly short-levels (we're talking about minutes). If you enjoyed Borderlands then you'll feel seriously let down by RAGE.

RAGE had a lot of potential and some of the videos looked really promising but it just doesn't compare to games like Borderlands, Far Cry 2 or Metro 2033.

I have this on PC, it's nothing special graphically (it's a console port). The gameplay gets very boring after 4 or so hours too as it becomes repetitive.

On a plus note the audio is superb, very atmospheric!

If it was a toss up between a burger meal or the game, which?
Go for the game. People report 7+ hours of gameplay. Burger only lasts a few minutes of pleasure lol
None in my local PCWorld/Currys
Can someone get an extra copy for me and email me the code please, I will give the money back through Paypal PM me please.
Got this for a tenner not too long ago and I got a good 15 hours out of it while trying to do all of the side quests on Hard difficulty. While it was apparently very buggy on release, I had no problems playing it through on my NVidia GeForce card about a month ago, so I guess the patches have done their good pretty well. Only thing that was a bit gutting is that the textures still 'pop-in' when you turn around quickly!

Well worth a fiver though, even if the last few hours did start to feel like a bit of a slog.

Great deal, thanks for posting. Picked up a copy this morning from the Blackburn store.
It still costs £29.99 on steam!
I also live near the Fort Kinnaird PC World. It shuts at 5pm on a Sunday so there's no point in me going out now.

I'll take a drive up there tomorrow and pick it up if stocks last. Might pick up a few for my brothers as well.

Thanks. Heat+
Out of stock in Gloucester. In stock in Bristol though!
I saw this price a couple of weeks ago but it didn't appeal because I don't live very close to a Curry's or PC World. xD

Far Cry 2 is used as a comparison?

Far Cry 2 was bloody awful - talk about repetitive..it was so bad I got bored and never loaded it up.

Rage is not fantastic either to be honest but some of the combat scenes are very well done. The "drive from A to B to perform a task" became tedious and very reminiscent of Dead Island in that aspect.

I'm not sure what I'd consider to be a great game in the past few years - they all appear to have substituted fantastic graphics for sub-standard game play....

I find myself playing the likes of TF2 more often....
Far Cry 2. I used to just get in a jeep and use the mounted gun to obliterate everything. You could just back off if things got too hairy then go back and mop up. Very disappointed considering this was one of the few games I got myself hyped up for. I got it on release day at full whack.

I haven't bought a game on release date since. Lesson learned.

Good game? Skyrim of course. Loads of good indie titles as well. Generally though, I agree with you. It has been a pretty poor year for game releases.

And yes, FarCry 2 was a huge disappointment. The only cool thing about it was the spreading fire.
Very good game. I'm working my way through it on a console after picking it up for £9. Reached about 13 hours game time and I think I have a 3 side quests and 3 main missions left, so I'd say about 15-16 hours worth of play to complete it. Well worth a fiver.

I passed on Crysis 2 for a dozen Krispy Kremes.
Got this on PS3 for Xmas and enjoyed it for the most part, did get repetitve after a few hours but for such a low price you can't really complain.
