Hmm only 500v tested

Normally 1000v with these kind things I'd pay a bit more just for piece of mind , although they could be fine though.

If you knew half of the things electricians do this would be the last thing to worry about

Hint: most of us are too lazy to walk to the distribution board

Well I regard myself a decent electrician you sound like somebody that twists all the earth's together to save on earth sleeving.

When have you ever worked on 1000v? I've been an electrician 10 years and have never yet, it's not a normal everyday occurrence for 99% of us.

No I haven't but its called piece of mind and let's be honest they only time I'd work live is testing. It's to easy to isolate.

No thanks for the house bashing and the t+e monkey's leave that with the mud slingers.

Personally I'd prefer a longer thinner shaft for most of them

The only time you work live is testing? You must have some long days waiting for the customer to let you switch off. When you install new circuits do you isolate the complete board before fitting the breaker?

Dunno about this, I have no issues using cheap Chinese electronics but this could be life saving insulation. Besides these are on amazon for £8.99 with prime:

Worked for Hampshire, Surrey, West berks county councils all major works done after school hours/half term explain to the client whats going on and its pretty straight forward other than the live testing side.

Its called an isolator , why would you need to work on an oven live (other than checking for voltage on the safety circuits etc) hardly gonna swap out parts on it and if its an issue with the supply circuit you hardly gonna be doing that live are you (other than tighening terminals).

Nothing wrong with doing it the right way
