It was striker, grifter, burner, mongoose for me. Ahhh happy days.

Heh - I had a Redline BMX when I was a kid.

I loved it so much, that I re-purchased one a few years ago.

I went a little crazy, and imported some Skyway Tuff graphites from the US. The bike was a beast, but I ended up dismantling the thing and selling the parts off individually. I miss it. ;_;

my mate collects these the orginals from the 80s he has around 15 of the orginal ones he was very lucky with some somehow he managed to get some in the orginal boxs that wernt even built from a store that went bankrupt ages ago ..ill tell him about this deal he may buy one to add to his collection

A 'Harry Leary Turbo' ! Very cool.

It's amazing how fragile true old school BMXs look when you compare them to their modern counterparts. Waaaay cooler though...

My next door neighbour had redline flites. They cost more than my entire bike

That's no old school though as that has breaks that run through the head but it's a much better bike but I would still have the original if you grew up in the 80's you either had a burner or wanted one, I prefered the old White burner but they came in all colours but this is the most recognizable.

Great nostalgia hot.

I've still got my Redline 500a. Got it in 1984. I spent 2 years restoring it to new condition. Now my 13 year old daughter rides it.

Some kids came over from the next town and one had a PK Ripper. Remember being in awe of it!

The Argos Burner's frame looks more like a Firebird Freestyler, which I snaffled 2nd hand in the early 90's. Happy Days!

Memories.... lol, can't beat the old Raleighs...

First decent bike was grifter, then an Ultra burner (got Z-rims for it as the alloys buckled really quickly), then I got a Redline, finally a Mountain bike. Thanks for the nostalgia

You mean the grifter was different? Yeh, it was a long time ago, but doesn't quite look the same in pic I posted before. I think it was a lot chunkier.

Super Tuff Burner for me. Gold with black skyways. It was amazing.

Anyone remember the Raleigh Bomber around the same time as the Grifter lol.

Wow! Some of these bikes really bring back some good memories of growing up in the 80's!!!
I used to dream of owning a Mongoose Supergoose but had to make do with a black/yellow Falcon Pro!

I had a gold super tuff burner with black skyways, it was a duller gold than this one though and had the oval frame. Wish i still had it !

i had a puch murray chromolly frame from halfords with mag wheels, damm they were heavy anyone find a photo of one would love to reminisce

The old ones were bad enough but the new ones are unbelievable....V brakes, and that disgusting looking frame, dropouts like dinnerplates and weighing in at over 35lb!

I bought a Night Burner about 10 years ago for £25, sold it soon afterwards. I had an Aero as a kid and could never afford the best bikes, only one kid in our area had a Mongoose, other than that all Raleighs. The short toptubes, 1" headset and slack headangle make them almost unrideable compared to a new school BMX.

I realise people are voting for nostalgia but if anyone was really thinking of riding a BMX properly or encouraging their kid to do so any bikes not made by a proper BMX company are a waste of time.

Out of stock available for delivery extra £5 gutted anyone got free del voucher for argos?
