Just ordered this bike for my son for his birthday. I have been looking for ages for a dual susp & dual disc brake bike and haven't found anything near this price especially for a Raleigh. If you order before the 31st Oct and add something for a few pence or pounds you get the £10 voucher. I ordered the WSOP Texas Hold 'Em Hand Held electonic Game another bargain reduced to £2.49. Delivery is £4.95 but I added next day delivery and this came up at no extra cost??? (normally £2.95 extra)

Where can I learn that?

Good find but seems to be out of stock for both store pick up and home delivery in my area :-(

No stock for shropshire ....This could be used with the £100 pound gets you a £10.00 voucher deal ...Meaning the bike would be closer to £80.00...?

I ordered for home delivery this morning so maybe I had the last one? Also I did put about the voucher in my original post.:)

Still available for home delivery for my area (cambridgeshire)

I just reserved one for collection at the Oxford Botley Road store, to collect by Monday.
If anyone wants the reservation code please pm me. First come first served.

is there any benefit going for this over the aluminium for 200 on their site?. besides aluminium being lighter, everyone tells me to go for aluminium bike. i remember my old steel Raleigh when i was younger, was a bit heavy but not that i couldn't lift it. charlie

This one is a hundred quid cheaper, which would work for me, but my boys already have Raleigh bikes.

Good price, but looks like something the Hoff might have ridden in the '80s. Just needs a swishing red light and camp english accent.

i think it looks kind of kool, a bit retro too

The components on it don't look very impressive. The handlebar stem definitely looks cheap. Non hydraulic disc brakes aren't really much of an improvement on V brakes. Raliegh isn't the brand it used to be. Its just an importer now of cheap chinese bikes.

they still make quality bmx's......nice bike

You get what you pay for. It's not possible to produce a quality cycle for retail at under £100.
The problem with full cheap suspension cycles is that the frame suspension bushes and shock absorber often fail very early, if you are lucky within warranty, if not it can be too expensive to be viable to repair.

Raleigh is a trusted brand name, but it is no more British than Mao Tse Tung!

hi, i just tried to order the bike from argos and none in stock dont know when its coming in either, what annoys me is that they have just brought out their xmas catalogue with it in and its out of stock!

As a Nottingham boy it depresses me what happened to Raleigh :-(

When I were a lad (ok, not that long ago ;-) ) they really were very good quality bikes. Sadly, the manufacturing was too expensive so they are now no different to any of the other no name bike brands floating around. :-(

For anyone who can't find stock, I'm no expert but the one at the end of this link looks suspiciously similar:? ...only a couple of quid more too with delivery...
amazon.co.uk/BOS…8-3
I don't know anything about the quality of either product, they just look the same to me that's all!

I have just received this bike and by coincidence I already have the Boss stealth that is in the previous link. They are more or less identical to look at but this Raleigh one definately has better quality gears much more robust looking (Shimano) where as the Boss one is an unknown brand of gears. Just noticed the Raleigh bike only has 18 gears even though it is described as having 21!!!!! looks like I am going to have to make a call to customer services.

boring sensible responce:
this bike is gonna be so heavy it'll put anyone off cycling for life.

however if a full suspension is what they want beyond all else...

Seems to be back in stock for delivery.

i have recently ordered one of these and it only has 18 gears apposed to the 21 stated

now showing as £199.99
