Ralph Lauren Men's relaxed fit and Ladies Polo shirt £20 @ tkmaxx

20
Found 6th Jan 2014
Went to TKmaxx in woolwich and a couple others looking for ski gear. But found a section containing Ralph Lauren polo shirts for only £20. Seems a bargain. They had it in many sizes with various colours and about 15 of them on the rack.

Also went to the women's section and found 4-5 women's Ralph Lauren polo shirts for £20.

They also had them at the charlton and hammersmith stores. So assume they are nationwide.

I couldn't see it online though.

Good luck!

If you saw the program on TKMaxx a few weeks back you'd be very dubious of buying "designer brands" from there.

yup better getting a polo for a fiver at primark imo

^^^ These are 100% genuine. The programme did not state that the clothes were fake! Just that some are past season and a few brands are their own brands and not known labels! :-)

Btw got a couple of these a couple of days ago. Great bargain! :-)

Past season items are usually marked up as such but I would assume that everything in there is 'past season' whether labelled as such or not. Either that or the design team had a brainfart and put out stuff in unsaleable colours.

Good for you. Wish others did the same. It would make it easier for the less taken in to find stuff then.

The program showed that TKMaxx buyers approach the design houses and get them to make inferior copies for a lot less cost. The design houses then let asian sweat shops bid on the contract and whoever can get to their target price gets the contract.

Some are old stock, there is a chance these are but lots are vastly inferior products.

Most designer clothing is made the far east anyway it's just the ones that fail quality control go to the likes of TKMaxx

Its a polo shirt, vastly superior would be easily seen by just touching the top or seeing what material its made from. After all a plane polo shirt with a horse on it isn't going to be vastly different. When talking about jackets or ski gear etc then fair enough but not a polo shirt.

Beckton branch had plenty too

is there an online link please for this documentary that everyone seems to have seen, bar me?

When you buy this level of "designer" clothing you do it purely to "show off". You are paying to display/advertise; a man on a horse with a stick; or maybe one of the many other animals/symbols - crocodile, seagull, eagle, moose etc etc etc.

Heavens forbid you don't understand the game properly though, very embarrassing mistakes can be made; for example, one may think they are playing along and "fitting in", when purchasing clothing with a rather fetching panther on it, at a seemingly bargain price, only to then become the victim of much derision and abuse, for simply not knowing which animal "was in" or "cool".

Voted hot as it is a good price if you like to advertise men riding horses with sticks and associate yourself with the prep scene of America when you are in fact most likely part of the working class of the UK.

What colours did they have?

I buy Ralph Lauren and I like the style, fit and quality. And no a polo from primark is not of equal quality.....

I have seen and bought many polo shirts at much a much cheaper price than Ralph Lauren with far superior fit and quality. But,, to be fair, they cannot get anywhere near to the style you get from advertising that man on a horse with a stick and the prestige that comes with associating with the American prep scene.

Congratulations

Lol. Well those who find it helpful hopefully will go and grab a bargain.

I've bought many stuff from them before including real brands and have found the quality to be good. Can never be sure whether it will be as good as if I went to actual Ralph Lauren shops. But if I could afford all the RRP prices then I wouldn't be in here as much.

Majiik: they had purple, pink, blue light purple on top of my head. The women's had pink, light purple and yellow I think.

Glad you managed to get a few too! Surprised that they had quite a lot left in stock.

Do some proper research..... TK Maxx buy in old leftover stock from Ralph Lauren. It's not made for them, RL just didn't manage to sell it all in their own stores (or in their wholesale businesses). They get it VERY cheaply because RL just want rid of it as it's old season/colour.
