Good deals in hounslow asda been like this for a number of weeks.

Even for the non ramadhan crowd the frozen samosas are delicious, much better than the asda len brand

some good deals there, thanks

God this thread comes around quickly!?!?! Wonder if we could just link the responses to last years thread, save all the ignorant comments from BOTH "sides"!!

Never noticed the large packs of samosas at ASDA, don't tend to like the supermarket samosas, but might try these. The tinned tomatoes have been on offer for a few weeks as we have been stocking up on them. So sad that tinned tomatoes at 25p a tin is now considered such a bargain though isn't it?

tbh most of these so called deals are standard, they have probably just labelled them as ramadan specials to get to some thicko's who fall for it...they do the same at christmas and thicko's tend to fall for that too

Apart from the rice and tinned tomatoes, rest are consumed during Iftar, when you break your fast.

oh dear. Do you think Muslim fast for 30 days straight with no breaks? They only fast from before sun up to just after sun down. Inbetween...they eat! The meal they eat before is called suhoor or sehri and when the fast is opened the meal is called iftar.

I'd like to point out that the foods that supermarkets put on offer as part of their Ramadan deals tend to be more aimed at the Asian Muslim population in the UK. Culturally, foods like samosas originated in South Asia. Muslims however, as a collective, are from all over the world and eat all kinds of foods (in the UK there are Muslims who are English, African, Chinese, Malay, European etc etc) - so if its a true Ramadan special, dont just feature foods from Asia or the Middle East!

Thanks OP

Good offers,...heat added..........!:)

Asda sells "halal fish"

I am not joking!

People, KEEP IT REAL. Talk about the DEAL. This is not a forum for you to air cultural and religious differences.

Oh dear, a food deal gone wrong. Pack it in people!! Voted hot as the deals are good. Nuf said.

@ frank? Do it on misk. This is a deal post love.

So much for peace n' harmony. Enjoy the food for those who get it

Cheers for the deal Op, i just wish that was the talking point

Any special deals for Hindu people. I never seen any festive offers for Hindus in any stores. Why just for Ramadan??

ALL off topic posts removed, if you want to discuss religion then start a thread in Misc forum.

@ind123, Tesco have diwali offers every year here in east London and I'm guessing thats more or less national too, so yes they do have festive offers for Hindus too and have been doing so for probably the last five years atleast.

Thanks op for posting, really sorry that your deal got hijacked and became a hate quest! The dates were reduced to £1 for 500g packs I think in my local, I picked up 4 last week.

What a great offer!!!
OMG,Help us!!!

I love the way this thread has 30 comments along the lines of, "I hope this doesn't turn into a debate", "Sorry your deal got hijacked" etc. When actually no-one has even really mentioned religion, and certainly not in a negative way.

They have Diwali offers like adhkarzf mentioned. But, as beef isn't in any of the items above, I am sure you can enjoy them as well.

Who cares about religion it's a good deal Heated

As a muslim, am I the only one who sees the irony in discounted food during the month of fasting?

CAN WE STOP TALKING ABOUT ISLAM AND FOCUS ON THE DEALS PLEASE ?

supermod

Hi can we keep comments deal related and about the products on offer where possible please. Try to keep the thread on topic rather than it turning into a heated religious debate as things can quickly escalate with inappropriate remarks. Any comments made should remain respectful towards other members beliefs at all times - members don't have to accept other members views but they should remain polite if posting. Please report any obvious troll posts or posts that are submitted purely to incite a negative response using the report link adjacent to the actual post. Thanks all.

There are two tub varieties :
- Pure mango puree - very sweet and doesn't feel like an ice cream and has 0% fat
- Mago swirl ice cream - This is the actual ice cream type - white ice cream with mango juice applied in a swirl.
