You have to be a brave soul to have a JLR product outside of warranty.
They’ve had to put the Velar into storage in fields as they have made so many and it’s not been as popular as they expected. Will be more deals around to try and shift them
Another car you'll see driving Peregrine and Gemima to school....
Make sure you enlist a breakdown recovery service whilst in your custody...

Great deal.
This is the ‘base’ R Dynamic. It doesn’t have a nav and comes with cloth; if you really want one, you should step up to the R Dynamic SE they have at £439 on the same 1+47
Pretty good deal. A lot of car for the money.

Did they do any market research on the name? Who in sound mind thought a Land Rober Velour would be a good name.
This is one ugly car every time i see one i think who ever made it should be fired !

The Velar name was first used by Range Rover in the very late 60s. They're just reusing it. But yeah, it's a bit of an odd one.

Farquhar and Pippa...

Still tempted though!

Anyone know if they still have the massive reliability issues?
RobMotoring2 m ago

A few reported here: https://www.velarforums.co.uk/

That’s really surprised me, I never thought in a million years there would be an enthusiasts forum for them! I’ve always associated them with people who know nothing nor care about cars other than the status symbol element. I’ve learnt something new today!

People said my Range Rover Sport would give me headache with issues! The only thing that broke in 12 months was a rear parking sensor speaker, cost me £22 on eBay and fitted it myself. I think its just if you get a goodin' or bad one!
There are not many nicer cars on the road right now than the Velar. I highly recommend a test drive at least

Agree, whenever I call my friends who own a Range rover, either they are in the dealership for repairs or on their way to.

Nothing whatsoever has gone wrong with my Evoque. Saying that the only thing that went wrong with my previous MG ZT-T was an alternator at 10years old. I do have them properly serviced though which helps.

My neighbours 16 plate VW golf is not serviced and I've lost count of the number of times he's had VW rescue to it.

Looking after a car is key, I'm car mad so always look after them and chang them more than my kegs lol, my last car being a new Focus RS, that got serviced the first 800miles to be safe.
Bloke from work has never serviced his car in 8 years, no idea how its still going
Got to say it's the nicest range rover to date .love the door handle design.
A warranty a must without doubt unless you have balls of steel.
have i missed something somewhere? post says £18k, when i click on the link it comes up at £42k....
Ordered mine last weekend... £410 P/M and £410 deposit once added Metallic Paint, SatNav and Privacy Glass.

Even looking at leasing the Velar or an X3 or XC60 you cant get anywhere near it price wise without £6K deposit!
6,000 miles per year isn't a lot. Would look good on the drive though if you like that sort of thing.

I thought that would be the case, but apparetly theres a four month wait on build... I'd happily take a decent spec'd one thats been in storage for a good deal

That's awfully close in price to the R Dynamic SE? stratstone.com/new…82/
Very good deal.

Saved me the trouble of saying exactly that. Chap at works had a disco for almost three years. In the last 6 months it's spent three and a half months in the garage. New gearbox first off, and then a new engine. The engine *might* have been down to the garage cocking up the gearbox installation....

I'm so excited about seeing my first Velar driver stood in the rain with door handles that haven't come out - it'll definitely happen, and I'll have it on YouTube within the hour!

Does it have the virtual boot pedal? Maybe they could get in the back way? Very classy...

Isn't this a £45,000 car base price?

In which case £370 for the barebones car isn't that amazing.

Not bad if you want to try the car for 18 months. No deposit either and up to 10k miles. Seems decent

Yea, the SE is another £30 on top, then you still have to add on the Metallic Paint and Privacy Glass there too.

And you don't think they've anticipated that and have a manual override like my car has for the remote locking

According to my dealer its 3-6 months wait on all Velars.. They can't build them fast enough to meet demand.

The handles are motorised and sink flush into the body, I expect if they don't come out there's not much can be done.

Wouldn't be an issue on some cars, but bound to be troublesome on these.
