It's simply another option and outlet, so seems reasonable to post it and it may be more convenient for some to pick one up at their local store.

Cheers OP, went for one myself.

Only you can't, if you are going to get the discount. But post is free.

The extra fiver may be worth it for some that would like to get their hands on one sooner.

If you choose the bundle you can get the Pi2B+, black/clear case and AC Adapter for £39.99. Not bad.

if it was £30 with £5 i might consider it, but £30 is the price everywhere, with the B+ being under £20 now

Got mine running OSMC flawlessly neat little device using it for DLNA. It's naked behind the tv right now though since my case hasn't arrived yet.

I'm surprised PCW sell it, though they'll doubtless still try and palm you off with extended guarantees and rubbish antivirus!

It doesn't have built-in WiFi right?

Correct

Ordered mine from CPC Friday morning and was dispatched the same day, should be here Monday, slightly cheaper, CPC are a much better retailer and I got some LED bulbs as well dirt cheap.

Also CPC's are made in the Sony plant in Wales, these could be Chinese ones made by RS instead, should be the same, but I'd rather have British made for the same price.

RS supplied Pi's are made in the UK.

The Chinese ones are for ROW and have a diff colour PCB and are not CE certified.

At least that's how it was before the 2.

Don't quite understand why £5 off a price that's over £5 more than everywhere else is suddenly such a deal. It's still not the best price!

It doesn't, but £6 gets you a wifi dongle that works a treat.

yes, you will need to spend more money. before you buy you need to visit
raspberrypi.org/
and read up what sort of commitment you'll need to make it useful

I wouldn't go for the clear case as some of the chips are photo-sensitive and require proper shielding.

to get xbmc running u need a micro SD card and a power supply and a network cable (providing you can use a wired connection). aka stuff u have lying around. use yatze as a remote on your smartphone. oh and you'll need a laptop with card reader to write the image. I would recommend openelec for your xbmc install. its buttery smooth on a pi2.

dumb question

could this run Linux and be good enough for my kids to.play friv.com? (multitude of flash games). it would free up.my laptop!

...and if your tv has HDMI-CEC (Viera-link, regza link, bravia sync, anynet+ etc.), you can just use your TV remote.

No it wasn't there have always been UK model Pi's made in China, there was also the cheaper Chinese only one without certification and a different PCB,

Just an update, its £29.99 without a code now.
