That's not a bad idea. I didn't notice much difference in speed between the old 3 and the new one, although transferring large files over did seem to be noticeably quicker.
I have the original Pi somewhere in one of my old kit boxes. It was painfully slow. This looks lots better but if there's a Pi4 round the corner might have to wait and give that a go.
I wonder when Amazon will start selling this latest version?

I wonder when Amazon will start selling this latest version?

They already do - although technically they are only fulfilling orders from 3rd parties

I meant Amazon as the actual seller rather than FBA.

I was kinda annoyed because I *just* bought a Pi 3 and didn't even open it when this came out, but then I saw the power consumption. It seems to use about twice as much power for just a tiny performance boost. Think I'll stick with the Pi 3

The power consumption is still tiny of you are powering by mains, but agree this needs to be a factor if you are using batteries or rely on battery backup

True but with those spikes in power, a crap PSU or usb cable on your system could be...."interesting".
This all raises the price because you have to go out of your way seeking an expensive power plug and cable instead of plugging into your telly like the zero and 3 can.
Disappointing update, still no X265 support. Pi 4 will not be out till 2020
