They very much serve a purpose. The list is endless.
I use them as a home automation controller / alarm system/ cctv system / dns filter/ web server/penetration testing...the list goes on
Great for learning to code

Emulation is still pretty big (I think)
the newer revision and 4GB version is 36.99 on ebay with plenty of stock
I use them for all sorts currently octoprint, tvheadend, a DIY NAS, for retro gaming and planning a birdbox that has a pi and camera inside. They do make great streaming devices with online community unlike those cheap android boxes.

I got a 4gb version of the pi recently, having had previous versions too. I got rid in the end as it was too much of a fanny, sudo this and get that. Installed OMV, added a drive and lost interest. Again, like you say, with libreelec it wasn't great either.

Good for some, just not for me.

FYI, while this is a good deal, it's apparently a permanent price cut going forward - raspberrypi.org/blo…gb/
Do they still have that issue with charging via USB C?

It is but Retropie still isn't officially supported on the 4 yet.
Right, can I plug this into my TV or monitor via HDMI and use it as a PC????

I just want to use Microsoft Word as you would do on a normal PC.

You could use it for word documents, but not using Microsoft Office.

Yes and yes

sudo this and get that.

No idea why but this made me spit my coffee out - I've probably been watching too much South Park recently and read it in Mr Garrison's voice
Brilliant little things. I use one with PiHole to block adverts on all of my devices, just great.
Also used as a NAS, torrent client and still the best network media player with no trans-coding. Youtube client is great too, with no adverts on your TV.

All for buttons
Where I can get Raspberry pi zero w in the original price I’m trying to get one and cheapest on eBay is around 2x price (20£) and wait time of 1-2 months other one locally in uk are 25+ £ and original price was around 10£
Anyone see the commotion on raspberry pi's Twitter?

I use my Raspberry Pi for Octoprint for my 3D printing.
I can load files wirelessly, monitor the prints and there are so many plugins which enhance the nature of 3D printing!
Long shot here, but I'm hoping someone in the know can help. Has anyone used a raspberry pi for pulse width modulation? I need a controller to fire a six-step voltage source inverter for my dissertation, so it needs six PWM outputs to switch six MOSFETs in a specific order with a duty cycle of 50% at 50Hz.

I had that problem a few days ago. You need to create your own API key on Youtube. It takes about 5mins, lots of examples out there
