raspberrypi.org/arc…008

Im still waiting on mine that I ordered from RS Components in the middle of July!

thought pi was excluded from tcb/quidco?

TCB:

Please note, cashback excludes the Raspberry Pi Circuit board.

quidco:

for all sales (excluding Raspberry PI)

So no deal really, normal price.

I was too, so cancelled and re-ordered at Farnell and it arrived after about 4 days.

No cashback from TCB or Quidco, I'm afraid.

Please note, cashback excludes the Raspberry Pi Circuit board.

Still a good deal, since it is in stock for next day dispatch

They ARE charging delivery, it's just in the combined price. The price for the Pi itself is around £25.

It's the best way to get one though, what with RS lead times etc.

I'm in the process of playing around with a Dual tuner for PVR recording.

Well you could say that for any free delivery product? The price is £25 ex. VAT, so add the VAT and you'll reach £29.95 delivered so, as I see it, its free delivery

Not really, as the price of the Pi is £25 inc vat, so Farnell have bumped it up. RS components is £25.xx + delivery, so for example if you wanted two then you could get them at £56 at RS... if you could be arsed waiting that long

Anyway, how are people getting on with theirs?

Wow these are selling quick, only 2 left! when I posted the deal there were 134!

Out of stock.

I just had a phone call with RS asking about the delivery date (mine is due next week). However they refuse to talk about Raspberry Pi orders on the phone and instead you have to e-mail them.
This is the response I received:

Good Morning,Apologies for the delayed response to your email. We are … Good Morning,Apologies for the delayed response to your email. We are busy working with the suppliers who provide components for your Raspberry PI to ensure you receive your order as quickly as possible. In regards to your query we have been advised that our next batch of approximately 40,000 Raspberry Pi’s will now be arriving during September, with further deliveries expected in October. This delay is due to the very high level of demand on the core Raspberry Pi processor chip. Unfortunately, this means that some orders will be delayed, although we are trying to reduce this as much as possible. We notified the customers affected on Tuesday 28 August, we apologise if you didn't receive this notification. As for your specific order please see the table below as to when we expect to dispatch your order. (the table refers only to your last 6 digits of your order reference)If this is unacceptable we are able to cancel and refund your order.Thank you for your patience and sorry for the delay,Kind RegardsRaspberry Pi Team

So basically The order I placed in July won't be delivered till November now!

Slinger55, cancel it and just order at Farnell. Even out of stock you'll probably still get it before end of September if not sooner.

Yeah looks that way I think, It annoys me you can't just cancel it online, you have to e-mail to cancel it, talk about Sh*t customer service!

Farnell are now selling UK manufactured boards from the Sony plant in Wales, whilst RS is still sourcing its boards from China hence the disparity in despatch times. The UK boards are meant to have some stability improvements over the MK1 boards.

I was waiting for an RS raspberry, rang them up said they wanted card details over the phone despite doing it all online 'confirmed'

My order says stock now allocated to your order does this mean i got my order in.

i just got a confirmation from quidco tracked £1.75 cashback

I got this a month back since I preordered it for £23 or 27 can't remember exact price, but unfortunately coudnt find much time to explore,..please bear in mind that you ll have to spend on extra accessories like keyboard, mouse, SD card extra which when bought separately works out cheaper.

If they run out the next best place is tandyonline.co.uk/ras…tml they have Gertboard kits as well.

back in stock 169 in stock go get them guys.

Edit now 111 in stock going fast when there gone there gone.

pretty sure it only supports up to 32GB i'm afraid. Wireless keyboard can be achieved with a USB Bluetooth receiver

Edit: my mistake, full list of working cards here:

They were designed for educational use but they're great for media players using XBMC, or an arcade machine using MAME. or just to mess around and learn coding on

The EW-7811Un?
You need atleast 1a psu if you plan on using it.
Works out of the box for Raspbmc and the new Raspbian release.

I brought 2 EW-7811Un back when amazon had them for £8 great little devices.

yea thats the one i just ordered one for £9.45 plus quidco cashback not sure how much yet can you link me to a suatable power supply that i will need for this with that wifi adapter being used aswell.

Thanks for this, I cancelled my June RS Components order a couple of weeks ago after the 5th delay email advising me it would be November before it shipped. Utterly useless. Farnell on the other hand managed to ship less than 10 minutes from order confirmation, hooray!
