Never heard of this and probably have no real need for it. So ordered thx op!
I bought an older model of the rav filehub several years ago.

This is one of my favorite gadgets.

Put some movies onto a sd card. When on the plane, my wife can wirelessly watch one film from the device on her phone while the kids watch different films on their ipads (and I can watch another film on my phone) - all streamed from this device.

The battery can used to provide power to a phone which is running low on juice.

when at the hotel (where I have to pay for wifi FOR EACH DEVICE) - I use this as the ONE DEVICE registered on the hotel network and then can share the network with all of the families devices.

When in the car, it sets up a wifi network and the kids can play minecraft, terreria etch against each other.

These are great. Had one for a while and use it for offloading photos from SD cards to HDD when travelling. Good price, recommend !
Can I plug a 2.5HDD in and use it to stream content to kids tablets when on the move?
Yes, we bought one last summer and it was amazing while travelling. Streamed to ipads and androids.
vendor name is sunvalleytek-uk
SVT do not exist
its is also fulfilled by amazon rather than some inferred partnership

Amazing product. Allows me and especially the wife to store all are photos while on the go! Bought one as a gift to one of my colleagues and she's been enjoying it as well.
Great product have used this and a Netgear Trek when on holiday to use the hotel's WiFi and if there is a network point in the room even better 🔥

Yes you can. Plug in the HDD via USB then go on the app with your tablet/phone and it’ll give you access to the HDD via this device.
Excellent. Been eyeing one of these for a few weeks. You just saved me over £10 Thank you!
HEAT ADDED.

Does this device even have any competition? Surprisingly I can't find anything remotely like it, which is odd considering how useful it is...

Nice one!.

Do you care to share with us how you managed to pull off the then £16.95 price for the white one a couple of month's back?, hehehehe - the Merchant/link you used, etc, etc? (even if expired now, or whatever?).

Thanx. :-)

AGREED!!, lol.

Try these:

kingston.com/en/…wg3

mymemory.co.uk/blo…ss/

amazon.co.uk/Kin…QU2

Your welcome. :-)

I bought a few of these ones about 3 or 4 Year's back or so:

amazon.co.uk/Kin…QU2

But I bought them from MyMemory though (when MyMemory were selling them - and for cheaper than it's Amazon competition at the time too). :-)

But like you said yourself, they are useful yes, and yes to the fact that they SHOULD possibly be wayyyyyy more 'contenders' to the table where stuff's like these are concerned, etc?.

With any luck, the Product Makers/Designers read these Post's also? (and will perhaps do the 'necessaries' to give the eager [ublic amongst us what we are all now vying in anticipation of now like?, hehehehe). :-D

We'll see I guess?. :-)

Hahahahahahahahahahaha.
Seems a good deal.
I was thinking of getting this but then realised this is the same as having a travel router like the net gear Trek and a separate power bank which some may see as an inconvenience but in my view a better solution and cost about the same

What on Earth are you on about? Not sure what you're trying to say.

Are you saying that there is no such company as sunvalleytek-uk? Because that is just the seller's Amazon marketplace username - anyone can sell on there, you don't have to be a company, so the fact that there isn't a company with that name doesn't mean anything. But it's clearly the UK marketplace username of Sunvalley Group (formerly Sunvalleytek International Inc) which is a large Chinese electronics company that owns the Ravpower brand, so it's not some third party reseller.

And not sure what you mean by inferred partnership but 'fulfilled by Amazon' simply means that the items are being stored in Amazon's warehouses and will be despatched by Amazon, which means you're getting stock from within the UK delivered as quickly as anything else from Amazon, and I guess that's because Sunvalley don't have their own warehouses/distribution centres in the UK so they're using Amazon's - which, again, any marketplace seller can do.
How does the wireless router thing work? Do you put in a data sim or something?

How exactly is this able to stream stuff or provide the network to do so? Just wondering how it works for you when you use it for your kids in the car.
I was just about to but this and then thought could this not all be done by my phone? For example I have a P20 Pro and with one of these

Anker USB-C to USB 3.1 Adapter, Converts USB-C Female into USB-A Female, Uses USB OTG Technology, Compatible with Nexus 6P, (2015) MacBook, ChromeBook Pixel and more amazon.co.uk/dp/B01COOQIKU/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_pG3dBbRXBS5SX

I could add a usb hard drive andv stream movies to kids tablets and firesticks in hotels etc? I get this is more useful with having SD too but what else might I use this for? The battery element I don't think will be of any use to me. The main purpose I am thinking is if we are on holiday we can take a firestick and stream movies if the destination has bad WiFi.

Uhm. Yes it is. Just bought one. Did you remember to click on the big box that says "Promotion"?
I’ve used this for years, really useful when travelling. Aside from @Helpful567 comments above I also connect it to my mi-fi device and it passes through the internet to any attached device. Also handy in hotels where there is an Ethernet cable, plug it in and you’ve got your own Nat’d WiFi hotspot. Best thing ever.
Price difference aside for the moment - this one or the HooToo version? Which is better in terms of performance and user friendliness?
Got one of these a couple of months ago and absolutely love it. Just a piece of advice though, the Filehub App is not my favourite - for a start Google Play wouldn't even let me install it on my phone or my father's older Samsung. You can download it from the RavPower website but it can act a bit buggy.
It's nothing you can't get around though, and personally I prefer using a file explorer app and stream direct through VLC.
Heat by the way - I paid the full £40 for it and it's well worth that.

Just to confirm, can I plug in a portable hard drive and an SD card into this and transfer photos from one to the other?

All the reviews I can find only mention transferring from SD card to a phone/tablet.
Sold out
Damn, been waiting for one of these to come down in price.

Sorry, it was the same price (£27.99). Just checked the invoice and there was a part payment by a gift card.
So where paid wi fi is available and only allows you to connect 1 device only. You could connect this up to it and then use this as a hub to connect more than 1 item wirelessly to this hub ?

what the hell are YOU on about?

if you read the title of the thread its pretty clear there is no mention of sunvalleytek-uk or even that its fulfilled by amazon

Easy there, I wasn't having a rant, just explaining how it works because I honestly didn't get what you were saying from what you wrote.

You said SVT doesn't exist - I thought you were saying Sunvalleytek doesn't exist (which it technically doesn't, because they changed their name) and so I was pointing out that they are now Sunvalley Group, which is the company that makes these, so they're legit.

But I guess what you were actually saying is that you have an issue with the fact that OP abbreviated Sunvalleytek to SVT and didn't mention that it's fulfilled by Amazon in the title. I don't see the problem with that - the title is long enough as it is, given all the things this device does. Maybe that info could have been added to the post, but it's all clear enough once you click through to Amazon.

imo its obvious what i was saying but yes my post is about not posting simple titles properly
there is plenty that could have been cut out of the title so the basics can be done right

When I put the promotion code that what appears.
"The promotional code you entered cannot be applied to your purchase."
So what to do than?
FFS paid £40 last week for one in AZ UK.
Damn.
Expired.

More accurately, the seller offering the discount seems to have run out of their stock. Hopefully, it'll come back in stock soon
