Rawnsley Estate Shiraz Grenache Mourvedre £4 at Tesco

Found 5th Oct 2015
Saw this great wine offer in Tesco this morning. A botle of red wine reduced from £9.99 to £4 a bottle until 6/10/2015.
Shiraz Grenache Mourvèdre - Red Australian Wine.
Small parcels of premium grapes have been carefully selected by our award winning winemakers for this great quality Australian wine.
Our Shiraz Grenache Mourvèdre is a soft, silky, vibrant red wine full of red berry fruits which are complimented by complex chocolate and coffee characters on the finish.
Its a nice wine and the chocolate and coffee really bring your tastebuds to life. Don't know if this has already been posted yet, but its a bargain price.

£4 fair price, £9.99 is way overpriced. Just priced so it can be reduced.

On promotion at £4.99 in April, July and September.
Hmmm, wine descriptions. No one ever says, "Large amounts of cheap grapes have been carelessly thrown together by some passers-by for this low quality Australian wine." If it's such a "premium" wine, why are you charging £4 a bottle for it?
I had a couple of bottles over the weekend. I think I would have been slightly disappointed if I'd paid a tenner, but it's certainly above average for a £4 glugger.

Enjoy
One way of seeing if a wine might be genuinely reduced have a look at the back label and see where it was bottled, if its an UK postcode chances are its a line that is constantly reduced and has come over in a bladder. This is a generalisation and not true of all wines.
God I wish I could drink again, then again I remember all the problems, is there a way to drink without it causing problems? Whoever invents that will be rich.
Drink responsibly and stick to Old World wines rather than this Aussie upstart ;-) hot.

Shiraz Grenache mourvedre blend are quite rightly referred to as The Holy Trinity of wines.
Great find, just stocked up.
Ignore the philistine who wouldn't know a good wine if they fell over it.

I'm no philistine, just because someone has sloshed some wines together do not make it great. Some wines with this mix may be great, this is just glugging wine- nothing wrong with that at this price. It is what it is, bulk wine brought over in an oversize wine box!

An honest question, if a wine is brought over in bulk and bottled here, what makes it a bad wine?

If you look back at the thread I have not said or implied its a bad wine, just pointing out that it's brought over to be realistically sold at the £5 price point. The fact that they say it normally costs £10 is where I draw exception. I do not spend great amounts on a bottle of wine, but, I have been fortunate to have tried wines that have been genuinely reduced from £10 plus and in most cases they certainly taste better than the wines that are constantly on offer. I re-iterate at £4 this wine is as good as you can expect, but truthfully it's reduced by £1 not £5. My views , my opinions.
I have had this wine and don't object to it but would not pay £5 for it as I can get better-ln my opinion.
P's. If I saw this wine at £2.50 I would buy some.

I know, they transport it in giant bladders. Then bottle it in UK.

Fair point. I think I misread you a bit. Yeah, probably worth around the £4 - £5 mark. Probably a drinkable uninspiring wine, as most of these "wine lake" wines are.
But, I've never actually tried it. (_;) so my opinions are worthless.

No probs. I tell you something, having not tried something never seems to stop anyone on hukd's passing an opinion.
