Build quality wise I've been looking at the new dell xps, a razer blade or the 16" macbook pro. This seems like a pretty powerful good spec when compared to the dell or the apple for 1600. Any advice on what I should go for?

For quality, hands down the Razer Blade for build. It's the sturdiest laptop I've ever used and even more than my MacBook Pro 13. One slight issue is reliability, I had one of the older models of the Razer Blade which sadly suffered some issues and needed repair. It had been said than Razer has upped their game on this though since 2017 but I cannot vouch for this

Heard bad stuff about Razer quality control. I think Linus (from LTT on YouTube) had his two last Razer Blade machines both develop major faults within a year of purchase.
Thanks for the tips. Think I'll delete my price watch on these laptops.
