Can get £19 cash or £28 voucher from CEX but will have a lot of trouble unloading a lot with them because stores don't generally buy in bulk, useful if you just get 1 or 2 to exchange at CEX if you've got a purchase in mind.

What layout are these ? They Look to be US ?
Would this work for my ps4 pro or Xbox one x?
Lol Membrane "gaming keyboard".

This is not a gaming keyboard. Its a bog standard keyboard with a 10 keypress cache.

its a bog standard few pounds keyboard made to look like a mechanical one using marketing to make it look and sound convincing. "Razer", "deathstalker", "essential".

A gaming keyboard is not defined as having a mechanical action. These are well reviewed and targeted at those who need something super quiet that retains the features and software of a decent keyboard. If you know of something better that ticks those boxes then share it and add something of value to the thread.

No I dont know of a better gaming keyboard for this price.

And this is actually the best review I found for the keyboard, others are worse, although this is for the review price of $80

This review is more in tune to my thoughts digitalcitizen.life/rev…e=1

A gaming keyboard should last a lifetime with over 20 million keypresses per key and should not require much effort to press. This one has plastic scissor switches which typically wear in a tenth of the time of a mechanical keyboard and are more likely to be damaged before that, they have switches more commonly found on low travel laptop keyboards which require more effort. There is no backlight, programming keys is poorly implemented.

You are more likely to develop RSI if you use this for the type of gaming the marketing says it is designed for as contact with the switches is required for every key press putting pressure on finger joints. That is why mechanical switches are better.

Of course you can play games with any keyboard and be perfectly happy. It may be better than most keyboards up to this price - but until you have used and tried proper gaming keyboards you dont know what you are talking about.

I buy all sorts for keyboards for a living - all sorts of mechanisms, switches and connectors and know its horses for courses, what is good for one person is terrible for another. There is no overall best, but dont confuse a good standard keyboard with a good gaming keyboard.

One of the features of this one and what helps make it very quiet in operation is the very short keystroke distance. So while it won't have the positive action of a mech switch, it should be possible to become very fast with it. Again, you're missing the USP of this which is the form factor and noise levels. Razer make mechanical keyboards for those without moany housemates, sleeping kids or whatever. So anywho, do you have a cool job title like keyboard acquisition specialist?
I have this but the chroma version and I find it fine for me, I play games ect. Don’t get what’s so bad about it for this price it’s ace!
showing up as £34.99 for me.

Mechanical keyboards are not all noisy - it depends on the type of switches used - blue, brown or red. red do not make a click and can be noiseless. Then it depends if they use dampers so that they dont hit against the back of the plate the switches sit on to keep the keyboard sturdy. They are noisy at the cheap end - the blue switches. Brown may or may not make a noise but the user can feel a bump when the key press has been activated. Red may or may not make a noise or feel a bump.

job title is not so grand - IT procurement. Just means IT buyer. I do get to play around with all the new equipment and get feedback from users.

The Razer Chroma has mechanical switches they are the equivalent of the Cherry MX Blues - the clicky ones. They are proper gaming keyboards. This one does not have mechanical switches.

The Chroma will take a lot of pounding. The deathstalker essential will not.

I think they mean the Deathstalker Chroma. It's a membrane keyboard. I also have one. Love it.

Mine arrived this morning, four of the keyboards came neatly packaged. I took one out but found its pretty meh... there's no backlight and the design feels basic. Hopefully i'll still be able to sell them
