This is the cheapest I could find, so voted hot, but I can almost guarantee this will be cold due to people not wanting to spend more than £3 on a mouse!!

Thanks at least someone gets the value of this!

Zavvi at £49.95, so that's the nearest price. Shame that pcworld's 20% off code doesn't apply to gaming mice. Either way, not a bad price.

I'm thinking about buying a Cyborg RAT - it looks ridiculous!! You can get those for about £40ish.

Decent, hot. I'm running an MS Sidewinder X8 at the moment, which is brilliant, though the rechargeable battery seems have lost some significant capacity recently. Doesn't matter much though, the magnetic cord is awesome.

Ooh, purdy lights!

I love my Razor Deathadder. Don't seem to remember paying near £45 for it though. Seems a bit pricey, but may be the best price available.

Got mine off an auction site brand new for £30 and this was over a year ago so expensive..
Plus the fact this modal will be redundant soon as a new higher dpi version of the Lachesis is coming out soon

That looks immense! I would love to try the 7 (or 9). However there's no chance I'm buying one as I'm a leftie

After a posting a few days ago, I switched from my Razor Copperhead which I have been using for 4 years to a G9X. Good price though

Moved to a Razer Naga for MMORPG play recently and loving it... Really good build quality and a nice long cable - enjoying being wired again after several years with wireless mice.

+1. I love mine. Cost me £17.50 delivered from Microsoft Expert Zone

It doesn't do exactly the same job though. You obviously don't play games at a competitive level.

At least the Hyundai won't catch fire on the way

i've got a G9X. I preferred my G7 though. But i heard a lot of problems with Razer mice which changed my mind as i was going to go for the lachesis. Suppose it's good for the lefties though.

One thing about Logitech though. The software is horrible!

I'd recommend the Deathadder over the Lachesis. I had a Lachesis for over a year and recently switched to the Deathadder 3.5G. While the Lachesis has 4000dpi and the Deathadder 3500dpi, the Deathadder has the more advanced sensor which makes it better than the Lachesis, and 3500dpi is more than enough for most gamers. The Deathadder is also slightly cheaper and available in left or right handed versions

Oh, and I have a Deathadder, but only run it at 900dpi. It's much more than just the DPI that makes these Razer mice much better than £5 jobbies from the market!

Razer mice are terrible.

Razer mice are terrible.

I disagree - I used to use an Imperator at work (believe it or not) which was really good. Comfortable, accurate and worked on pretty much any surface except glass.

The high DPI of these mice is more of an annoyance than anything.

I have the Deathadder which is 3500 DPI, but I have it set to 900, and even then my sensitivity in Source games (TF2, CSS) is only set to 3/20. and that's still a higher sens than most players.

If I had it at 3500 DPI, I'd have to adjust the windows sensitivity in the control panel to balance it out, which I've heard can cause pixel skipping.

Can someone explain to me what is the point of this? It's impossible to position your hand with anything like that accuracy.

Everyone is quoting just DPI. While this figure is high for this mouse and is one of it's main selling points, people are forgetting that other things are also important in a mouse used for gaming. You have the Ultrapolling rate (measured in Hz), how many inches the sensor can read a second, the acceleration it can take (in Gs), the feel of the mouse, the response time, number of buttons, etc...

As I said previously, unless you desperately need 4000 dpi (unlikely), you get a better all round gaming mouse with the Razer Deathadder. this Lachesis model was better than the Deathadder, but recently the Deathadder got upgraded, so the Lachesis is now the overall worse mouse out of the two. There is a new Lachesis coming soon though that will trump the Deathadder in terms of DPI if you need that

I hate this mouse, just never felt good in my hand, i have a naga and a ms 5 button mouse and they are both much better than this pile of crap, you will only be able to use 7 of the buttons as the other 2 will not be comfortable to reach, the mouse also suits lefties.

Thanks - that explains some things, but not the fundamental DPI figure. To me it looks just like the daft megapixel number on cameras - the bigger it is, the better it must be, right? The naive are bamboozled.

Things you mention above seem to be interrelated, such as the polling rate and the response time. And when you're talking about acceleration, are you really saying that people can move mice around so fast as to damage them?
