Hey, I got this phone and needless to say, the phone is a new experience with the 120Hz display.

Games are super smooth, animations and general browsing makes every other phone feel outdated. I believe this refresh rate may be the next big thing in phones!

As for games, this phone really does speak for itself. The 1440p and 120fps is a game changer, unfortunately not all apps support it. No Biggie, if a game does for whatever reason run slow on this phone, there's a setting to reduce the refresh rate from 120, to 90 or 60. There's also an option to reduce the resolution from 1440p to 1080p or 720p.

It has two front speakers that sound way better than HTC's. All I can say is that they do get dirty really easily, using one of those cleaning gels would help clean it, I tried blutack in an attempt to get it done quicker, but both my speaker grills came off and although they look horrendous after removing the adhesive, I was able to get them back on using my own 2mm adhesive tape which is now even more of a dust collector...

Onto the camera, it's just a standard 12mp dual camera, no special thing about it. This is where people tend to criticize the phone at most, followed by the tiny vibration motor which often sounds out of place or broken when vibrating for long periods (e.g. calls or alarms).

Durability of this device is okay. Somehow people manage to get marks on the metal housing just by removing and putting the case back on. It's an aluminium body so any chips or marks on it will be felt. I've probably got the ugliest Razer Phone at the minute lol. The black aluminium wears off to reveal a nice and shiny silver colour.

Weight? This phone is heavy although you don't realise it overtime. I just picked up my HTC One M9 after a week or so of using this and that felt so light! This phone is close to 200g, due to its shape, size and 4000mAh battery.

Talking about batteries, it only takes about 2 hours at most to charge to 100% from 0! Razer's own charger comes with 5v and 3a output, a beastly 15w... Did you know their cable is also a USB C cable at both ends? You can use this phone to charge other phones too! Basically turning it into a power back, just plug one end into the phone, and the other into a USB C device, and there should be an option in the notification bar to charge the other device. Neat!!

Now here comes the personal bit, the part I hate the most, and the part I dislike. Let's start off with the nice part, the fingerprint sensor is placed at the best possible position, the power button! It's a nice flat button on the right side of the handset. The thing I hate is widely agreed and disagreed, no headphone jack! Thankfully Razer pack their own type of USB C to 3.5mm adapter, but it's still inconvenient to take around... Oh well!

Typing this on a Razer Phone, it's my main phone and I can say happily that it will fulfill your needs. If you're only in it for the 8GB RAM and the best CPU + GPU available, I'd say just go for the OnePlus 5t it has the same hardware specs at £420 via AliExpress, just no fancy screen or settings. If you're in it for both the specs and super smooth new display, better grab it! Only phone available at the minute with this refresh rate at 1440p, but Nokia have plans to release one soon.

Hope this is an okay review
No headphone jack spoils it so much...not using one of them stupid adaptors

Camera got a software update, it should be ok now.

Linus has been experimenting on this phone to bits, and he loves it.

Everyone complained about the camera initially.

I was looking at getting a LG v30 bit after looking at this I'm more convinced to get this.

Razor are looking to hit the big boys where it hurts and certainly went big. I'm certainly impressed!.

Very good deal. I’ve got an 8+ but tempted to go with this deal. Shame I’m already on 3. Was going to go sim only but like the look of this phone as a KODI beast!
Is there a way to port my existing THREE number onto this deal?
I got this as a sim only deal for £20pm from the retentions team a few weeks ago! This is a great deal for an extra £10 pm
You can also get £30 Cash back from quidco for new contracts from buymobiles.net making the price £690, I'm tempted...

If your no longer in contract ask for you pac code, then port your number to say giffgaff, get the new contract then port your old number back to the new contract
Ive just had a quick browse and affordable mobiles do the same deal with £25 auto cashback.

Edit. Topcashback is offering £42 also

I'm the same, would be good to know....
Excellent deal, not personally used the phone but my inevitable upgrade(S10) will be quite pricey, so I'll definitely be in the market for a slightly cheaper phone, the Razer 2 perhaps when it gets released

Apparently if you convert the existing sim to a payg then you can then request a pac code and transfer the number over

my contract is due on the 28th of April but you pay line rental in advance. This is what I am hoping to do as this deal will save my £27 a month vs unlimited data (which I don't need vs 100GB!) If not I'll play the PAC game. Buy a PAYG SIM. Top up £5. Port then port back. This is a great deal and very much doubt 3 direct will match it.

Hi I've had the phone since release and I've got to say it's a fantastic phone. If you use your phone's screen or speakers a lot this phone is for you. The phone is also designed for gaming so games like real racing run like a dream. Plus the battery lasts at least a full day of semi heavy use. However the let downs are the less than average camera (for flagship phones) and the lack of a headphone jack. Other than that it's a great phone and I would recommend.
Hope this helps!

Im on simo with 3 until summer. Would they let me switch to this a cancel other cintract without penalties? Not sure if I need a new phone as I am quite happtly with my lg g6, but looks like a great deal!

I'm thinking the same. I was looking at the LG V30 too. I'm not gamer but use my mobile for a lot of media and this phone covers most of the bases.
Still getting the v30 over this.

i didnt see that lol, good deal then
Been hanging my nose over this for a while. Halves my current monthly bill too! Heat
I'm already sum only £23 a month unlimited data with three.
So an extra £7 a month for a phone I've had 1 eye on since I seen announcement is a no brainer.
Easily get £200-250 for my oneplus 3t
Thanks

Well I used to have an S7 edge and it's around the same thickness and size. I wouldn't call it heavy but compared to an iPhone there's a sizeable difference in weight. For a flagship I'd say it's slightly thicker than others. When I first got the phone I found it to be pretty big but you get used to it quickly.
This phone ticks all the boxes for me. Only thing missing is the dual sim support

They probably won't. The 120Hz screen refresh rate is the killer feature. Many YouTube reviewers are commenting on how vast the improvement such a high refresh rate brings to the gaming experience, compared to gaming on the Android flagships or the iPhone X. The Sharp IGZO quad HD screen with 8GB RAM, THX certified audio and flagship processor coupled with that crazy refresh rate probably make this the best phone available for gaming at the moment.

On the downside, the camera is not perfect, the design is a proper brick and residuals after the first year will probably be nothing compared to the flagships.

At this price this is a steal.
