Not asking people to jump in their DeLoreans but I was waiting and waiting for HDR in a monitor and jumped on this Acer ConceptD with HDR600 for £240: hotukdeals.com/dea…286

I present it for those who think decent HDR never comes in sub-£300 categories, but also to note that it looks great but I barely ever think to switch on HDR anyway. (And personally I can't see much difference with Hz refresh rates-as I moved from an electriq 95hz £170 monitor-but I should keep real quiet about that)

It's a lovely monitor totally agree but HDR600, especially on this screen, is still worthless, just for marketing HDR and not worth turning on.

Reading online, max brightness on HDR is only 600 nits and it seems to have 6 local dimming zones, which is just pointless.

Put it like this, the Cooler master Tempest GP27Q is one of the first affordable decent HDR monitors and that goes up to 1200 nits and has 576 dimming zones.

Very poorly reviewed, just watch the start

Very nice video but is also only 1 year ago and reviews the monitor at a price of 899. This is more than half the price and people who care more about looks and the build quality there isn't much like the raptor. For the right customer this is definitely good at 350.

Razer tax is heavy with this one.

Could just spend 399 and get that 4k 144hz Acer monitor from Argos

Not remotely worth it. New monitors are arriving with MiniLED tech so it is worth waiting till later in the year for some bargains

Looks like a good monitor, expensive RRP considering it’s not UHD though?

Came out March 2020. So base the RRP off of almost 3 years ago. It's a good price but like you say the RRP is a bit off now. (edited)

good price although I believe this monitor is not recommended by hardware unboxed.

You're much better off buying an LG 27GP850 for the same price or cheaper: better motion display, better adjustability, higher brightness and no need for a £100 VESA adaptor.

    Overall seems quite rubbish.

    Joes56's avatar
Yep I saw it at that price too, I was tempted to buy it but decided not to in the end.

This or Lenovo Y25g-30??? Don't need a 27 though but the razer looks decent for the extra cash

Depends what you need it for as the Lenovo is only 1080p but 360hz.

Hardware unboxed review for the razer says it's a bad monitor at $800, and even loses out in motion performance to some ~£300 monitors like the LG 27GP850 and Gigabyte M27QP

I'd check out this video for recommendations:
