Ts & Cs say you're only not applicable if you've had a reward up till October 2018. What's stopping me grabbing the reward for RBS and NatWest at the same time?

moh223

That's surprising. I've found the instant login with fingerprint pretty convenient. Took awhile for the card reader to arrive, but this was a second account so didn't mind the wait.

Mr_xx

I'm regretting switching to RBS. Their website/app is awful. You have to enter so much information just to login and it's quite how to browse as well. It just looks so messy. Plus there's no RBS near me so I'm going to have to get another bank account when I get my switch reward.

moh223

So my switch went through today. Payment made into account, so let's see how long the reward payment takes.

MichaelHood

I’ve gone for this. Took a slight hit on y clearscore credit report but £125 is worth it

Our 2 account incentives were paid on 25th and 27th September ;) happy days. Now where to now ? Currently looking at Natwest switch for another £125 each if it is eligible, will have a look at the T&c's first.

seanmorley01

Funds were deposited in both mine and the other half's account yesterday (highfive)

paul106

If it's anything like the Natwest deal they'll pay it on or just before 5th October. Edit: ignore me, funds credited 25th! :)

bebetositu

This is the slowest switch bonus payout ever, still not received mine.

CoumbBarr2000

This is a joke. Opened mine on June 26th, over 8 weeks later no £100 yet. I'm going to call them next week to see what's going on.

Thanks. I have checked the chance of acceptance with the checker and it looks fine. Thanks again for your answer.

hotpinkwheels

Yes, provided you are accepted. If you doubt your credit rating I wouldn't apply. HTH

lagerlagerlager

Is it definitely guaranteed that everyone will get the 6.9% if accepted before May 18th? Don't want to waste a credit search then have to decline the card in the cool off period if given a higher rate. Thanks in advance.

escortboy

I did a £2,000 transfer on a 0% 2.9% fee and it was £60 ish If you left the balance for 24 months that's all you'd pay in charges. With the 6.9% card it would be £250ish in interest with no fee.

hotpinkwheels

This is more for people who are paying interest at a high rate and don't want to pay transfer fees every time they switch and want a long term low rate or the hassle of doing balance transfers every 12-18 months. It won't suit everyone but the calculator will give you a good idea if it will be useful for you.

Then unless they've utterly wrecked their credit rating, they can get one. Obviously a few people can't, which is why I said vast majority and not all.

puppiesandkittens09

what about the people that don't have credit cards?

callum9999

Which is why I personally didn't vote cold, but credit cards are a better option for the vast majority. If you insist on just using your debit card in shops you are literally throwing away hundreds of pounds!

andddyyyy

Woohhooo!! In no way I'm I saying that you should change your bank for this, but if your already with rbs surely it's only a possitive?

puppiesandkittens09

but the point is not getting a new card with rbs. if you have the card already you can register with the deal and benefit from the 1% cashback. because 1% is still better than nothing.

Thanks ichayan, was going to call them but the RBS Credit Agreement turned up in the post this morning, so guess it must have gone through! Didn't get a very high credit limit, but every little helps I guess :) Will do the balance transfer as soon as the card comes.

ichayan

Once it is accepted the next page is asking you further details iirc I think just phone them up

I applied yesterday and got given a credit limit, but the page timed out before I was able to continue and complete the application, then I tried again today and it rejected me :( Will call them tomorrow. Anyone have experience of that? X10

ilovecoffee

feels a bit chilly in here - oh well, not for everyone.

Yeah, RBS also offers another package at £12.95 but I found I wasn't using some of the benefits. For me, its the LoveFilm and music downloads that make it worthwhile.

Funny after ten years just shows no one can predict the landscape. Rbs shares are now £2.56 however thats after a 10 for 1 consolidation. So the old price would be 25.6p a cool 60% loss in ten years. Just becase something seems cheap don't mean its going to go up again. Nice to look back on hindsight

jebervic

Now 51p, thats a loss of 21% cold

Sir.Bob.Paisley

Ta for the tips! One more...if you want to do some day trading are there any companies that offer a flat fee rather than, say, a tenner per trade?

Lyrrad

I think it is prudent to explain that to most users the selling of shares that they don't actually own at the time involves them buying those said shares within a limited amount of time (I can't remember what it was). It's a risky business although I remember LLOY being a classic share to watch. It would rise & fall 10% quite regularly. So rather than just earn an acceptable amount on the way up, it was possible to earn the same on the way down. Another was Baltimore. Oh they were the days.

A&L = best bar none....

hardy16

this deal starts the first of february it is onl in certain branches, you do not have to close your account with your other branch, all you need to do is switch your account by transfering at least 3 direct debits to go out of the account or have at least 500 a month going in and they will give you 100.00 in your account, there is no charges you only have to have to open a current account, do not need royalties account where there is charges, but if you wish to upgrade they are doing a special offer where they will refund you the first six months back, so a good way to save some extra cash if you wish to do so. but please rememeber only in certain branches

verbnoun

I think herby247 is wrong. I signed up for RBS about 6 months ago. It took 2-3 months before salary was paid in, all the documentation was sent in, etc. before I got the £100. I certainly didn't need to stay with them for 12 months! Also, RBS do charge for some accounts but if you choose the Interest Paying Current account there is no monthly charge.

Den

Quick calculations: £6 x 12 = 72 + lots of hassle for £38 if you don't realy want to change an account. I think that Alliance was the best deal around.

Clairebeary28

Have the Royalties account and saved myself £600 per person on my honeymoon through the travel bit. Yeah it's pain paying fees for an account however you can opt for ones with no fees and if you want better interest rates simply go for a linked savings account and get it on that. Don't honestly get why people complain about a charge for an account with benefits when you can get one without. I'd much rather do that than bank with the people my mum does who charge her a couple of quid a month to have weekly statements!
