Thanks. I have checked the chance of acceptance with the checker and it looks fine.

Thanks again for your answer.

Yes, provided you are accepted. If you doubt your credit rating I wouldn't apply. HTH

Is it definitely guaranteed that everyone will get the 6.9% if accepted before May 18th? Don't want to waste a credit search then have to decline the card in the cool off period if given a higher rate.

Thanks in advance.

This is more for people who are paying interest at a high rate and don't … This is more for people who are paying interest at a high rate and don't want to pay transfer fees every time they switch and want a long term low rate or the hassle of doing balance transfers every 12-18 months. It won't suit everyone but the calculator will give you a good idea if it will be useful for you.

I did a £2,000 transfer on a 0% 2.9% fee and it was £60 ish
If you left the balance for 24 months that's all you'd pay in charges.
With the 6.9% card it would be £250ish in interest with no fee.

I applied yesterday and got given a credit limit, but the page timed out before I was able to continue and complete the application, then I tried again today and it rejected me Will call them tomorrow. Anyone have experience of that?

For those that have done a balance transfer from RBS, how long has it taken you to receive the money into your existing Credit Card?

On the site it says it can take up to 3 weeks!?

No thats not short trading, but anyone who buys shares that they think … No thats not short trading, but anyone who buys shares that they think will go down and not up should be banned from trading for their own good! ;-)Short trading is selling shares that you don't own in the hope they will fall in value so you can buy them back for a profit - that is currently banned where it involves banks and financial institutions, currently 33 specific ones in the UK at present. That ban will remain in force until Jan 16, 2009

I think it is prudent to explain that to most users the selling of shares that they don't actually own at the time involves them buying those said shares within a limited amount of time (I can't remember what it was). It's a risky business although I remember LLOY being a classic share to watch. It would rise & fall 10% quite regularly. So rather than just earn an acceptable amount on the way up, it was possible to earn the same on the way down. Another was Baltimore. Oh they were the days.

On the up side mind Crude is down nearly another $10 at the moment

I bought £1000 worth of various shares 8 years ago, currently they are worth about £40 and it would cost more to sell them. Watch out has some places charge fees if your account is stagnent and these will soon eat away at any profits you may make.

this deal starts the first of february it is onl in certain branches, you do not have to close your account with your other branch, all you need to do is switch your account by transfering at least 3 direct debits to go out of the account or have at least 500 a month going in and they will give you 100.00 in your account, there is no charges you only have to have to open a current account, do not need royalties account where there is charges, but if you wish to upgrade they are doing a special offer where they will refund you the first six months back, so a good way to save some extra cash if you wish to do so. but please rememeber only in certain branches

I think herby247 is wrong.

I signed up for RBS about 6 months ago. It took 2-3 months before salary was paid in, all the documentation was sent in, etc. before I got the £100. I certainly didn't need to stay with them for 12 months!

Also, RBS do charge for some accounts but if you choose the Interest Paying Current account there is no monthly charge.

herby247

Its worth pointing out, the basic royalties account is £6 a month, gold … Its worth pointing out, the basic royalties account is £6 a month, gold is £12 and premier is £15.These fees are supposed to give you benefits like....Discounts on our rates for overdrafts, credit cards, mortgages and Personal Loans.Good luck!

Quick calculations: £6 x 12 = 72 + lots of hassle for £38 if you don't realy want to change an account. I think that Alliance was the best deal around.

Have the Royalties account and saved myself £600 per person on my honeymoon through the travel bit. Yeah it's pain paying fees for an account however you can opt for ones with no fees and if you want better interest rates simply go for a linked savings account and get it on that. Don't honestly get why people complain about a charge for an account with benefits when you can get one without. I'd much rather do that than bank with the people my mum does who charge her a couple of quid a month to have weekly statements!

Good find Thanks

As Emma says, please post this type of offer as a Hot Deal Tip...

Useful to note again this can be backdated to May also...

Just so members know, it's better to post this kind of thing as a "Tip" or a "Sale" rather than under the "product" submit a deal heading. That way there would not be 0.00 on the right hand side.

Thanks for the heads up though merlinthehappypig
