Looks pretty good, thread here:

https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?2115515-Wltoys-1-18-scale-A959-A969-and-A979-RC-trucks/

To note:

Some issues with ESC failing
Gears/diffs can get dirt in so will fail
Replacement (aluminium) parts available

On a side note, 20-odd years ago I had a Tamiya Manta Ray that had a 1200mAh 7.2V battery, the thread talks about this having 1100 upgradeable to 1200, where's the progress in batteries?

Must still have a stock pile of those batteries left
Gearbest is pretty hit & miss though. Delivery might take a week, might take a month, might take eternity.
this looks pretty decent for the price!
all I would say is check what its like to get spare parts... I bought a Chinese made nitro car a few gears ago, one small accident and no way to obtain spares, whole car worthless... much better paying for Tamiya or the like, quality over cheap.

Have had one for about a year now and still love it, as do my kids. Amazing value imo. These are a lot faster than your normal toy grade rc car. Spares are available on Amazon Gearbest bangood eBay and nitrotek. Plenty of upgrade parts too. This is beginner hobby grade so don't be afraid of taking the car apart and putting back together. There is a forum somewhere with a thread covering these wltoys a9*9 series cars, there's about 3 or 4 models which pretty much use the same parts apart from different wheels and shell. They are interchangeable between models however if you fancy changing the style.
Has anyone watched the video on the website? one of the wheels falls off!

Yes, I did enjoy that part. Also the part where he says 'every time I run this car something breaks'.

They take the money from your bank account even when the item is not in stock.3-4 weeks later I asked them why it had not been delivered yet & they said they are expecting a new shipment in.Now 5 weeks later & still no item.
You can get one of these on eBay for just over £43. You will need to upgrade the pinion and drive gear cogs as they wear out pretty quickly but are relatively cheap as are all the parts but it's still a good quick little car for the money.

That would have been nicad and not lipo?
guys and girls, can anyone please help me?

I bought and self built a subaru impreza rc car back in the day, and I got it out the loft to have a mess around with the dog, but the transmitter doesn't work anymore, some batteries leaked. How would I start going about repairing it? I assume I would needa new transmitter and uh... a gizmo to put on the car? Please help.
BAD company to order from.
They spend ages processing orders and then when they do send them out you're even lucky if you receive it.
My first order never turned up and I mistakenly decided to try them again, wish I hadn't, because a week after placing the order its still processing.
£40.77 now.

I've found a UK seller on ebay for £42 so tempted to get one from them, what are the battery run times like? And does anyone have a link for the spares?
