Can you recommend a suitable Rx/Tx and lipo battery to fly it?

I've not flown this plane, but wouldn't suggest it as a first plane. Start off with something like a Bixler whilst you get the hang of it. I spent a little over £100 last year on a Bixler, Turnigy 9xr and 3S batteries.

Hobby King can be a bit hit and miss when it comes to service. I've not had an issue personally and ordering from the UK warehouse is usually much quicker to dispatch than the International warehouse
For people starting out with rc plane. I suggest getting their Bixler as RobP mention earlier or better the AXN Floater Glider, this has lots of review.

IMAGINE taking out all the drones with one of these bad boys. You will need a speaker with Battle of Britain or 633 Squadron theme (my favourite).

Oh yes this bad boy separates the men from the boys!
Don't know how you got this posted. Every Hobbyking deal i've posted was removed almost instantly.

So what would be a good all round Remote controller that would not need to change or could be upgraded if the interest in R/C planes takes off

If starting off new to rc world I would recommend getting this as it cheap and reliable:

The one that markaustin313 mentioned is also good
