Specs more than reasonable but you can find once in a while better brand tablets, some full hd for pretty much the same price, even cheaper. Not voting but 2gb ram and 32 gb storage is sufficient for most people.

2gb of ram is plenty for a tablet and at 10 inches you won't notice the difference in resolution.

It being on sale in amazon wouldn't affect the version of OS. I think you're thinking of a different tablet.

I'm thinking about this for my kid as it comes with a case and all he'll do is youtube and a couple android games.

Is it fine for that do you think?

Absolutely yes! My son has a 1gb ram and it is still ok. The specs for this tablet are ok. As I have kids, case or rugged is important, you don't want to spend a lot and the child to smash it by mistake.
However, IMO you can get better brands for this price. And even cheaper. The advantage of this is the cover and keyboard. Which is a big advantage if you get it for kids.

Exactly. Suddenly 2gb ram for a tablet is not ok, 8gb ram is not fine for a laptop and so on. Some suggest the so call 'low specs' are ok for basic tasks. What is defined as basic? Well, 90% of people will do only basic tasks. And they take advice here to waste their money for better specs they never need.

But then the price is too expensive . Also no Android 9 or 10 updates on these . Argos was selling a Lenovo with 2gb ram for only £70 at Christmas.

Had an RCA a while ago, OK but not worth that money.

Ive got this for my son, paid £85 brand new. If you still can find it at £85 it may be a slightly better buy. It is rugged, so good for kids. Was coming with Win or Android. Obviously, people voted cold on it without even l9oking at the specs

Android 6.0 . You must be joking . These unknown brand tablets never get updates . Only good with current version of Android . That is why we have Chromebooks now which get updates for long time can play Android apps.

Probably an OK tablet but seems like a fairly high price for a brand like RCA.

These unknown brands are unknown because they are made for NHS. Also, my son is 5. He does not need any high specs and updates, the type of games he plays are ok with the Android version it came. And by the way...they never get updates but once I've set it up, it updated to 8. Or it came with 8, but this is the version it has on it.
I believe a tablet can be judged based on what you need it for. Yes, in a couple of years will be outdated for my son. So, I will get something else. Plus I've got this to try to get him used with a laptop, as it will help him at school.

Agree with this. Yes, this one is coming with a case and keyboard, but the Lenovo is probably better value and to add a case and keyboard will still probably work out cheaper. The only issue is, if you need it now, does not help it was cheaper before.

You have to judge the price on the total package (ie KB included). Sure, you can get another tablet and add a generic BT keyboard, but this one has a bespoke keyboard cover which is arguably the more elegant solution.
I wouldn't personally buy an android tablet with less than 4GB RAM and at least android 8/9 which also tend to come with better displays, but I'm more of a power user and prepared to spend extra money for higher specs. This tablet, however, would be perfectly adequate for casual users/kids.

That is why NHS computers always get hacked . Always use old version of software without any updates . Old versions of software without updates are security nightmare if connected to the internet .

I think 'always' is a huge exaggeration. Can't even do my job in the morning, as after putting no less than 4 passwords I have to wait an hour to update.

Should have single sign-on. Another IT department failure. NHS paid so much money to Microsoft to keep Windows XP going on . Will again pay more now that Windows 7 has expired to get the security fixes .

Yes, it seems you 'know' what you're talking about. Different platforms, different systems, local authority platforms and so on. Not IT department failure at all.
We use Win10. By the way, that no name tablet comes with Android 6 or Win10.
Anyway, what the point of this argument, let's leave it, a no name Android outdated tablet is ok for my son's age.
