How do you record from the Smart TV. I have a LG Smart TV.
Can this be used for a PS4?
Can't people just start linking to the WD recertified Website, rather than posting every recertified drive individually?!?

They can and you can (nothing stopping you), but keeping each specific saves time trawling the recerts (95% are not available), it keeps it simple (item name in header) and gets expired when each one is over.

Shipping charge if order under 50

There are ways around this, some say it won't charge you if you go through with order, some say you leave it in your shopping basket but leave the page and you get an email offering you free shipping (I assume you need to be registered on WD shop for this to work.

Have a look through expired WD recert offers, it often comes up.

All the ones I would want are out of stock
I'm afraid my personal experience with WD retified drives is not good.

The early bird gets the worm! But seriously, if there's 2 or 3 you're after then bookmark them and check morning, noon and 4ish on weekdays. If you're lucky you'll get one in a few days, or in a week or two, that goes for the My Passports and My Books, the others are a bit less regular.

The basic 2/3/4 TB My Cloud units that have been available recently may not be powerful (and don't have transcoding) but they are great for backups which you can schedule (middle of the night and you won't notice it) and they work as a basic media server and personal cloud.
