Sainsbury's have this on offer, as well as the Blade Runner (Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep) for £1. This was in the Farnborough store.

Good price for a good book, I'm told as I've yet to finish it, but I'm mostly annoyed seeing they've renamed "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?".
Great book.

Much better than the film and a must read if you enjoy 80s videogames and film.
This is a really good book, so much better than the film! Very much fan service to the 80's but in a good way
Hated this book, but great price
Must be surplus stock as came with the DVD or bluray
Amazing price on a great book. Personally I think it's on par with the film. They are just a bit different, but that's ok. What works really well in the book would translate to really dull in a film, and vice versa.
Brilliant read 🙌

Ready Player One is a brilliant book but I didn't think much of the film.
But, strangely I rate the film Blade Runner as one of my favourite films but was not a huge fan of the book.
Furthermore, as far as Blade Runner goes, I believe that there is actually a book of the film (called Blade Runner). So one might want to check if the book offered here is the Philip K Dick original or some pap.
Heated.

If you love someone who loves retro 80s, gaming, futuristic tech sci-fi etc - buy them this book.

A lot of the book is bloated by constant lists of pop culture, it’s a hard read in some places. I think I enjoyed the audio book better than the film or book.
Great book & a good film. Probably hard work if you don't get many of the references. If you are 40-50 & male then there's a reasonable chance you'll enjoy this a lot.

Mid to late 30s+ irrespective of gender would get all the references. Were you born in '99 or was BenDover69 - 98 taken?

Struggled with this book tbh. I get that it was reference laden and it hit a lot of my childhood etc, and on paper I should love it.
But the references felt forced. Less weaving them into the writing, more "hey guys, look at how many obscure 80's facts I can bluntly shove into my book! I bet you don't get them, because I'm a true fan who knows the tiniest details!"
Also the lead character is a bit creepy with his infatuation of Artemis, which echos the author himself (check out some of his 'poetry', pure incel territory).
If it helps, I really did want to like it! It's not terrible, just not very good. A pound is a good price though, so heat.
A great price for these two paperbacks. Yes paper. I paid £4 used for RPO on Amazon. Spotted in the Lordshill Southampton store, a few copies of each. Can't see it online. Tempted to get it but already have the 99p kindle version of RPO, which I'm enjoying as it's slightly different to the film. Vote for the price not the quality of literature lol
Highly recommend the ready player one book, absolutely great read. If you loved the film definitely pick this up (same principal but very different), if you've not seen the film (the please do), but like 80s nostalgia and have an inner/ fully blown geek side the this book is for you!
Ready Player One is up there with one of the best books I've read. Unbelievable
Incredible deal.
Quick question for the needs out there. What test links these two books?

Ya mean nerds.... Is it a spelling test lmao
It's a test... to provoke an emotional response.
The Blade Runner book (Do Androids Dream...) is only loosely connected to the the movie (which is still stunning) but is worth reading.
