**can confirm as stated in lower post now reduced to £25!

Saw this in Tesco St Helens before in the clearance section, most things look normal price in there "clearance" section but noticed this as have never seen it in there before.
Seems like a good price as gone back up to £69.99 on Amazon and £99 at Argos.
Very tempted myself but waiting for that cant refuse offer on Anki drive.....

Got this at Xmas. Much better than my memory of scalectrix and is good for all skill levels. My 3 year old daughter and 4 year old cousins were happily playing with it without spinning the cars off every 2 seconds.

Certainly worth £50 for the starter pack. If you want to expand, then I would pick up a second starter pack as the separates (cars, controllers, tracks) are much much more expensive.

is it easy to overtake? and to keep them on the track? i always felt the cars looked a bit "Big"?
Got for my son on the lightning deals at this price by Xmas. It's a great concept and impressive to watch but 5mins in one car crashed in to another and the 'crashee' car buzzed constantly after and zoomed off the track randomly. And whenever my boy crashed the the wheel on his car kept falling off. Good fun but a bit soon for my boy so returned it. Still recommend for slightly older kids as it could be really fun, the track is pretty big too not for anyone with a tiny living room.
Great value for this set.

Yes to can pass each other on the track, and by default the system tries to keep you on the track. Go to fast in a corner an you will come off, but you can steer the car back on. So there is some skill to it. I have started turning the assist off, so I can now go round the track really quickly, but you have to concentrate and we find it a lot more fun. Plus as you might guess, you can use the 2 cars as normal remote controlled cars (which again everyone loves).

You will find that when racing that the cars will bump into each other (done on purpose by the drivers). If this is done too hard, then a wheel will come off, but they will clip back on (designed to do this). You can also set up virtual weapons to use, but we haven't tried this yet.

I like the size of the cars, reminds me of Scaletrix, but I do agree that it does take up space. If the cars keep disconnecting then it is normally because the batteries in the car are getting low (3 AAA). Just replace them and away you go again for a number of hours. The controllers take 3 AA (if I remember correctly) and last for ages.

If you have any further questions, then let me know.
