So you wana spend a Tenner for the sake of getting a £5 Voucher so you can spend another £5 plus on there tat, why not just stay at Home spend nothing and save yourself at least 15 Quid.
Unless you spend it right away you likely won't get an opportunity, they are close to colapsing.

The payment-type restriction has been removed for the current promo. It was previously applicable to the similar promo running around 2017/2018 Christmas / new year period.

Stay away from this dog of a company
I got this last week but was told that the voucher could only be used if you spend £50 which is very sneaky!!
Dammit. Never use maplin normally but was left with no choice last night and needed compress air. They charged £14
If only I had this code then
Worst retailer out there
This has been going on for ages now
Previous £5 voucher worked for me even past the expiry date. Worth scanning through.

This is right. It can only be used against a subsequent £50 purchase. I tried mine online but it wouldn't work (for the £100 Asus router), though I was aiming for the vouchercloud offer. My voucher did work in-store for something £55 and surprisingly competitively priced.
Bought an Asus RT-AC68U for £95 with a £5 voucher they gave me against the purchase (paid in store), plus they gave me an extra £5 voucher to use on a future purchase.
maplin are so ridiculously overpriced anyway that I cant see even saving a fiver a worthwhile deal from them... literally everything they sell is double the price of ebay or amazon anyway.. maplin are criminals.

They are like oh oh you need a cable connector? £5 please.. yet on ebay you will get it for like 50p .. I hate maplin cos they prey on people who need stuff straight away and cant wait 3 days to save like 300% of what they paid.

Have to agree with the "best to avoid" characterisation of these offers & this business.

eg I placed an £80 order in Nov with a £10 voucher due by email.
It didn't arrive by last date given but I remembered and asked for it. They then provided it immediately by email = good that they corrected their error on first time of asking, but I shouldn't have needed to.

However I then spent it on an order and placed a "price match" claim so item I'd bought would be same price as at Argos that week. That price match claim was rejected as I'd used a voucher! No such condition on their price match info!

So I cancelled the order. Long, long story but it took TWO phone calls to actually get the order refunded and FOUR long phone calls to get my £10 voucher back and even then they didnt do what they said they'd do on the first THREE phone calls - ie you can't rely on their word at all!

That's my recent personal experience anyway & certainly I'm boycotting them; though don't anticipate that needing to be for long!
Maplin are for when you need something quick and can't wait for Amazon, eBay or other delivery and there isn't a shop around with the same or similar acceptable product. Basically, purchases are Maplin should be rare.

I recently ordered an RJ11 to BT cable from them via Click & Collect, because it cost only 75p and I know that their cables work with the particular device I need it for (cables purchased from Amazon & eBay in the past have not worked for some reason).

I don't yet have the cable though and I'm half expecting to find the order is cancelled due to a mis-price (the usual price of the cable at Maplin is £9.99!). Though I have just checked and it's still listed at 75p.

The most over priced retailer who are shovelling themselves into the ground. No pitty on them.

It is rare that anybody needs a set of disco lights or a weather station in a hurry.
Won’t go into Maplin shops anymore. I hate being pounced on as soon as I walk through the door. I just want to be left alone to have a look around.

I get what you mean, it is just that in recent years the things sold by maplin have shifted towards toys and gadgets. So if you find yourself in a fix chances are that maplin won't have what you need these days. You will get to the shop and they will tell you they will have to order it in, so you are no better off than ordering it on-line in the first place.

Worst retailer out there

How ? Why ? Please explain
It seems they are about to go bust.

In the good old days they sold cheap and then were taken over and prices often doubled.
Guess what, they lost loyal customers. Now they are in financial trouble.
Better spend that voucher quick... apparently this Maplin is teetering on the brink of administration.

Isn't this why they are almost bankrupt.
£10 at Maplin is usually at least double the price of other stores.

Yup that’s all they sell, just disco lights and weather stations, im so over whelmed with the shelves Stacked with these two items
I'm convinced the company will fold soon. A shame as I remember them from the early 80s. Knowledgeable staff, geeky products for electronics lovers. Amazing reference catalog. The place to go to. But they've lost their way and are now only a cheap gadget shop. I can't imagine anyone buying them. gone.
