Bear with me, its my first deal...

Was in Maplin today and spotted large packs of rechargeable batteries at £9.99 down from £21.99

You can either get 12 x 2000mAh or 8 x 2500mAh

I'm not sure which is the best offer as I don't really understand batteries... but the price looked good!

8 x 2500 mah better in my opinion but depends on the device they are being put in really.

I wanted them for the wii & wii plus that the kids are getting for Xmas... in the end I bought both and thought I'd ask for advice on which to keep?

neither my friend. Your best to get some of the new hybrio rechargeable batteries for the wii as they last longer when not being used, while these babies will lose their charge quite quickly. Im sure during xmas you wont notice the difference due to high useage but after when things calm down the hybrio ones are the best. Ive had both since owning my wii and hybrio all the way...

While I am the first one to encourage rechargeable batteries instead of disposables, this is very poor.

Standard 2000mah AA batteries are rather feeble by today's standards, even 2500mah are not that wonderful, but regardless, this type is NOT the best option for almost all potential users, as they invariably loose charge within a short period,
"New technology" ie. Hybrio/Recycko/Instants/Eneloop type are nominally lower powered than you can find, at just 2100mah, but in practice perform so much better as they hold charge, and can replace disposables in just about EVERY situation, and like disposables they WILL be usable when you go to get them, so long as you bothered to charge them when you took them out of the last device!

This deal below seems to be about the best around currently at less than a quid per battery, less still if you are buying more than one pack of 4

It has all been said in that thread!

Are the batteries listed in your link better than the Vapextech deals that I seem to remember you also highly rate nihcaj?

Don't know... just ordered some myself yesterday... so here's hoping! (once you use the new type, the old ones seem so inconvenient!)
Had ordinary NiMH rechargeables from them before, and they have been fine, but time will tell with these new ones!

these batteries exploded in my phone, melted the plastic so i had to throw it away

You have a phone that takes AA batteries?

I'm guessing we're talking DECT rather than cellphone then?

Cheers
