This deal is expired. Here are some options that might interest you:

Recommend a friend to TSB. Earn £100 each.

If you have a TSB current account you can recommend us to a friend. If they switch their bank account to a Plus or Classic account, you could each pocket £100.
Even better you can recommend up to five friends and we’ll give you £100 for every friend that switches their bank account to us. That’s £500 for you just for being friendly and introducing them to TSB.
T&Cs apply.

How it works:
Recommend your Plus or Classic account to a friend
Your friend switches their bank account to TSB using the Current Account Switch Service
28 days after your friend’s switch has been completed, and as long as 2 active Direct Debits have been set up and £500 paid into the account, you’ll both receive £100.

Please note the current £100 Refer a Friend offer will be withdrawn with effect from 28 February 2020. To be eligible for payment under the Terms & Conditions of this offer, applications to open a Classic or Classic Plus Account must be submitted by 28 February 2020.

NB. As part of application and account creation process you are prompted to create a 15-30 digit password and input it twice. Unfortunately, one of the password boxes refuses to take more than fifteen digits! Solution is to use a 15 digit password only(consider submitting a complaint if this happens to you, easy via online form, they may give you another £25 or so!).... IMHO worth the faff for £100+£100 and 3% on £1500 balance (£45).

Not sure if £100 is enough for losing a friend.
I've never had a single issue with them. Not sure what all the hate is about.

Probably the worst bank. They begged me go take avios credit card. It gives AE and Mastercard. I had to use AE as it gives more point. First they disabled contactless for AE. Then they removed AE altogether. Then they removed Avios points in the end.

Interest rates keep going down every year. I have to go to bank to talk to them to increase again.

App is appalling

I had a dispute case somebody used my card online. It took them months and months to put the money back. They told me they are waiting for the company they spent money to respond. It is atrocious bank.

Please dont switch to this bank for merely 100 quid. I'm going to leave as soon as I can.

Worst bank.
After 10 years went to santander.

Shocking bank, the £100 is safer in your hands than theirs, take their money before Mike Ashley does.
£100 for those opening a 2nd or 3rd account etc, you may as well keep it open for £100 each! (close account after minimum term to keep the cash). I'd recommend it
Agreed. Worst bank ever, don't do it!
Personally not generally had any issue with them except when the online banking fiasco happened and was compensated by them. However, are closing loads of branches this year including our local so will move the account then.
Wouldn’t do it for £1000

I never had a problem with them, Someone used my details to pay for some bitcoins ( several payments ) and to buy some pizza (£52 for it :)) )..they gave me my money back in 2 working days. App is great for me so I don't know why people are complaining about it. All good here but I had switched to first direct for the sake of £100
Recommend an enemy ... I was with them for years before I gave up. They're just a shambles.
Nah I don’t think so
Yep terrible bank. At the slightest thing they will cancel your card and to get reactivated make you go in branch to reactivate. And in branch they are slow and useless.
when you do recommend a friend you have got to fight for the £100 i have now left T.S.B to go with co-op bank and had better service since being with co-op
No idea what the hate is about. Decent current account that pays interest and £100 for you and a mate if they join too. Yeah they're closing branches, but who uses branches these days?
No issues for me in 2 years or so. The app is not appalling, don't believe the bitterness. Its fine.
Got some comp over the IT fiasco and out of the blue a 100 cheque came couple of weeks ago. Not even a customer anymore.
personally i find their online banking the most user friendly, thats also having used nationwide, rbs , halifax.

That's why they deserve to switch your 2nd account to get the 100£ bonus and then get away from them with switching to another bank

Would be good if you raise concerns by calling them and asking raise a customer complaint... Hope it would be resolved.
The only bank out of many that refuses to change my address after moving house even though I filled in and sent back the relevant form, unbelievable!
The worse bank in the universe.

It's been privatised twice in my short lifetime!

Strange. They changed my on the spot in branch. No paperwork required

Likewise
Suppose it's worth a try. Atleast I can tell them if TSB has issues in the future they'd get compensation if they complain. I got over £400 after their system switch over a few yeasrs ago and then another £40 just before xmas when their systems wasn't showing deposits(wages) into users account.

Worse case scenario sure who ever you recommend can switch to another bank later. Possible for another bonus for switching.
I joined in December through the MSE offer. Inviting my mum to join with this offer, so far I haven't noticed anything off about them, in fact I actually thought they were quicker all around than some of the other banks I have been with.

I agree, the app is terrible, just like Natwest. Online is just as bad. Lloyd's 10x better! Yeah no benefit to stay with them but they offered me their lowest credit card rate at 6.4% at the time, online banking is great, app is great, customer service is very good too.

This is the problem with Starling and Monzo with no branches. Everyone in my family and extended family send pure cash, or even a cheque. Good luck getting that paid in with no branch not to mention window cleaners or self employed work where people get paid in cash!

I will need to switch from Danske Bank by mid Feb as they decided they no longer want to offer bank account for people leaving outside Northern Ireland. I’m looking...one looks doable (already had HSBC switch offer and don’t want M&S gift card as I hardly shop there).
Well I do have a current account with TSB - Not my main account, I only keep it for the interest. £100 is very tempting, but I don't think I dislike anyone enough to 'recommend' them to TSB. I've had many accounts with many banks, but TSB are by far the worse (closely followed by Natwest / RBS who are almost as dire).

With Starling you can pay in using the post office.

Yeah I forgot they waive the £2 or something fee. Monzo puts a fee on when you pay in at local shops, forgot what it's called. I think Starling still have to pay the fee to use the post office, so I think at some point they'll scrap it being free unless they make money elsewhere to cover it.
3% interest on 1500 quid a month makes me just shy of four quid for having some money sat in an account, not bad really. Wouldn't really trust them with my main account but for a side account, 200 quid split between you and a mate and 45 quid a year interest isn't bad...

So just pay the cash into any bank account you have that has a branch and then transfer it via an app or online banking to your Starling account if you want. It's really not a big problem.

I was replying to a guy who started the original conversation about this and yet everyone's hounding me. Yes you can do this if you have several accounts but not if you switch, like I did with Monzo. I ain't here to start no arguments. Have a good time matey.
