I take it that it doesn’t take 15 minutes to load the Hobbit then crash right at the end of the loadcycle?
Edited by: "warren321" 12th Nov

I fired up my ZX+2 for the first time in 25 years a few weeks back. The "games" are mostly horrific uncontrollable, unfair messes.

I had one in the early 80’s and have fond memories of playing jet set willie, and lost a few weeks to football manager. However, I played one at a gaming convention last year and it reminded me how primitive these games were. TBH not worth more than a five minute nostalgia trip.

I recently started getting back into them, picked up 128k +2 boxed with around 200 cassettes. U can get them serviced for around £40.

Isn't this just a Bluetooth keyboard that has been previously posted for about 15 quid?

This is a better deal:

Got a link for that?

I got one of these on the earlier £15 ebay "refurbished" deal, it was brand new and unopened, even the box is in perfect shape. I haven't had a chance to play with it properly yet (forgot my desktop doesn't have bluetooth!) but first impressions are positive, the keys feel exactly as I remember :-)

What's in the "game bundle"?

Nifty Lifty was the first game I ever played. I would play that today, but there's a lot of other stuff I definitely wouldn't touch again.

just saying, i was reading not long back the reason this is so cheap is that it requires an app off the app store to work and the app is no longer available. making the unit useless. might be wrong but please check reviews before purchase

I recall this or something like it posted before and apparently it was basically just a wireless keyboard.
You had to have an emulator running and elsewhere and you could't install games due to lack of support.

Just in case you were thinking it is a self contained Spectrum.

Vaguely.
2 of my favourites were Match Point and Beach Head.

Didn’t Beach Head get banned? I’m not sure if it did, but I remember it being on the news and causing a fuss.

I remember 'pirating' the games in my Sanyo double cassette ghetto blaster.

I always thought Ocean Software had the best developers. Activision were pants

From what I can remember, there are two Spectrum things floating about. One is just a Bluetooth keyboard, that requires a computing device as an emulator, and one actually had the Sinclair ROM in it with 48k RAM. So you just need to work out which is which.

You were lucky.
I had to use a microphone and pray that nobody came into the room and made a noise, and that the volume level was ok!

Good book here if you fancy a short read and want to re-live all those childhood memories

If your idea of a party is to talk or play spectrum games, I'm grateful you never invite me

I have one of these, it's basically a blutooth keyboard, you can download the software although I found this to be better linked up to my nvida sheild and installing an zx spectrum emulator, I was rocking Manic Miner yesterday
