So many memories, but sure I want that rubberised experience again in my life

Might be worth mentioning it’s refurbished

Bought one of these from game at £29.99 and have only used it a handful of times. But it's exactly as it was back in 1982. Looks and feels the same. It's perfect. Do remember this is a bluetooth keyboard but for android download specatol and all the games are available and keyboard compatible.

you missed some out of your title and product info

It's a great nostalgia piece for sure but it is true that the rubbers keys, the very thing this recreates, were considered the worst thing about the speccy! I was fortunate enough that I never had to experience them as my first Speccy was the later 48K Plus model that had a completely redesigned keyboard with real (non-rubber) keys, which was wonderful, even by modern standards it was a nice design with shaped keys for a tactile feel. Wish they would recreate that one instead, though as less people remember it I guess they financial incentive isn't there....

I'll wait for the Alan Sugar era recreated speccy

Can you load spectrum roms on this? Would quite like to reminisce Kenny Daglish soccer manager 😊

Haha q a o p m was always my choice

The rubber keyboard seemed fantastic when I upgraded from my ZX81 :-)

Tempted by this, I'd never pay £30 for it but I quite fancy thrashing my gamer son at Jetpac!

I seem to remember there was a way to prevent someone from being able to press the break key. No idea what the code was though

Apparently the apps that are required to actually be able to use them were withdrawn some time ago so be cautious of this if you are looking to buy one. Effectively it is nothjing more than a spectrum themed keyboard.

That is - almost word for word -what the Mrs said when I suggested using condoms again.

This was the case but the issue has been resolved according to their press release on sinclair.recreatedzxspectrum.com/ which explains the resolution -
"Both parties can now assure customers of the availability of the Recreated ZX Spectrum and all associated apps and games."
Play store is showing the availability of the app - play.google.com/sto…xec
Hope this helps

The zx81 and zx80 had ram packs.(The ram pack wobble was something that only a child of the 80s understands - 2 hours typing in your program, the ram pack wobbled and you lost your work, so had to start again.)

The spectrum did not have a ram pack. (I still remember buying my 16K spectrum and then buying some memory chips to fit inside it which brought the memory upto 48k - a bit of a fiddle but cheaper to do this than buy a 48k spectrum)

Mine was also a 48K Plus! First computer I ever owned personally!

Later I was lucky enough to get a 128K +2A. Flash!

missed this
Please let me know if anyone would like to sell it back to me, thanks
