Foun in Winnersh store tonight a 18.5 inch Red Lcd TV, HD ready, and with built in freeview and DVD player. I know this isn't a brilliant TV but is perfect for my 4 year old daughter's bedroom.
SEL was a normal price tag not a reduced one so it may not be store specific.

Thanks. Heat added.

Do you have a picture of the TV?

Will have a look on my way in, ta

Why would you want a tv in a 4 yo bedroom, asking for trouble.

My thoughts as well.

Because it has a DVD player built in, can watch the horror movies before going to sleep............ ;-)

errr because they might want to watch a childs DVD when you want to watch something else. Might have a child that is very difficult to get to sleep at night.

You're all just making assumptions based on the fact that the TV will be usable by the child. I'm planning on putting a TV in the kids room when I can afford one (or a new one for the living room) it will be wall mounted with the power lead thru the wall into our bedroom. I will keep total control of when it is used so what difference is there between watching TV in the living room under my control and in their bedroom under my control.

Seriously some of you need to stop watching so many my kids are out of control reality tv shows

surely this deal is the price of the TV etc. Not a personal slate on whether my 4 year old has a TV in her bedroom or not.

Good deal heat added would like a decent priced tv for my kid to watch in his room.

Clearly you overestimated half of HUKD.

none in rugby, lady said price will be nationwide but end of line stock so they are few and far between

Spot on, half the people on here are just after a fight it seems..

Having said that though, MSE is full of gypsies bragging about buying an entire season's wardrobe from Primark for less than a fiver, so it's swings and roundabouts.. Despite the aggression, I still prefer it over here!

EDIT: Sorry, hot deal BTW! Might see if my local has any.. Cheers OP!

you shouldnt have to explain yourself, if you want to put a tv in your childs room that is your business, you posted on here to let others know of a good deal not to be attacked as a bad parent ! Thanks for the info !

Hot deal
(deletes all reference to OP's obvious failings as a parent and calls off social services)

My child is 3 and i will be putting our old 19" in her bedroom in the next few weeks, for the record and before i get shot down about it, she will have no control of it, we will put the timer on it, but it will be there for her to watch the last bit of cbeebies, not for staying up all night watching what she wants. I think people are to quick on jumping on peoples choices on whats right or wrong, I joined this site for deals, not for everyone to dictate what i should buy and where i should put it, nor my parenting choices. (now watch someone quote me with another whinge lol

TV's are great babysitters..

I think its all about personal point of view - we didn't let our daughter have a tv in her room until her 13th birthday which was in March. although she was just about the last of her friends to get one.

There isn't really a right or wrong here if use of the tv is monitored correctly.

None in Stafford, they've switched to the new brand (e-motion?) which I assume is replacing all their Red stuff. Probably the same manufacturer, just new packaging. They just did the same with all their Different By Design cookware, sold it all at 70% off then replaced it with the same items called Cooks Choice or some other nonsense.

Quick note about the Red TVs - I nearly bought a 21" last year, but turned out it wasn't wall-mountable. Might also be the case here.

You put a TV ina a 3 yr old's bedroom?? I once heard somewhere of someone giving a 4 yr old a TV in their bedroom, I thought that was bad enough!!!!!!!

Yeah, I'm getting a bit bored of reading people questioning parents on HUKD. Shut the hell up and mind your own business. Anyone who criticises parents on a deals site without being asked to needs to have a word with themselves.

All the judgemental knobs in this thread should keep their off topic opinions on the TC's parenting skills to themselves and simply vote and/or post on whether this is a good deal or not.

my 3 yr old watches peppa pig and the octinouts etc. am i a desperate parent ? oh but she does this in the living room and not her bedroom and that makes it completely different so i'm a good parent again .

I had a butchers in Team Valley Gateshead this morning, and as someone else pointed out, they only have their e-motion or tv's. There is a 19" DVD Combi for £149 I think, but I only looked for this given my daughter needs a TV for when she stays with me.

On a side note... The last time I checked, social services were more bothered about kids being "abused" than whether they have a TV or not.

If your really that bothered, don't stick an aerial in. That way, they can only use the DVD player.

Disabled son on living room telly, no 2 son playing xbox or watching playroom telly = 4 year old not being able to watch calming bedtime hour with c-beebies + 1 parent. Tv in bedroom = happy and relaxed daughter going to bed.

comment on post not my reasons for putting a telly in my daughters bedroom. Dvd plays nursery rhymes learning vocal cds also.
Please do not comment on my parenting.

yeah i think what you were trying to say is that a 4 year old isnt going to be too fussed with the 'picture quality' and the lack of 3D, 9 HDMI sockets, UPnP, DTS, USB, SD MP3 MP4 MKV Etc etc !

RIGHT off to find one!

These seem to be old stock as i have bene informed by a number of Sainsburys store that they do not stock the make Red.

Goodluck if anyone can find one.

Have to laugh at some of the usual online idiots picking up a chance to slate someone whenever they can "asking for trouble?" Like WTF, its not like hes Mr Fritzl installing one in his dungeon, hes buying a TV for his daughter, seriously catch a grip and get out more.

Heat and rep for this comment alone!

I bought 8x 32" LED LCD 3D uPnP wifi with FULL Virgin & Sky and international satellite for my 2 and 4 year old!!! Lolz

Truth be told though, children under 5 years old should not watch TV whether it is for casual TV use or nursery rhymes etc. Not conducive to healthy development. Each to their own.

So watching 30 mins of tv a day in her bedroom is wrong, yet its fine for people to chuck em in front of a 50" tv in the lounge (because at least they dont have a tv in the childs room). Seems like we have a lot of daily mail readers on here lol, my child is well balanced, has a structured day and is happy learning, she eats veg & salad, says please & thank you, sorry when she needs to be, doesnt eat junk food, but most of all she is a very happy child. Perhaps the people on here who like to judge parents should try and see whats not right in their own lives and stop telling people on here what their kids should and shouldnt have.

Anyone else find one?

What do you mean the tele tubbies is very educational lol

Great deal, albeit difficult to find stock - heat added!
Can't believe the parenting comments - itsn't it wonderful that there are so many people about that are so secure in the knowledge that they've raised their kids so perfectly in every way that they feel justified in slating a total stranger's parenting based on a single purchase...
Hope OP isn't put off posting in future as a result

My 3 year old has been allowed to watch lazytown on the TV in his room since he was about 18 months old. He'll only eat fruit and veg and is always outside playing sports and the like because he wants to be like his hero Sportacus.

If you've savvy, having a tv in the room can be a great educational aid- the majority of kids tv shows have really good content and deliver a good message for younger kids.
