UPDATE: Did not take long, £21.85 @ Base now on both consoles

Release date: Friday 29th June 2018.

Have this as a heads up until Base undercuts them.

Set 50 years after the climactic events of the original Red Faction, Red Faction: Guerrilla allows players to take the role of an insurgent fighter with the newly re-established Red Faction movement as they battle for liberation from the oppressive Earth Defense Force. Red Faction: Guerrilla still defines the limits of destruction-based game-play with a huge open-world, fast-paced guerrilla-style combat, and true physics-based destruction.

Open World Guerrilla Warfare - You decide who, when, where and how to battle. Utilize guerrilla tactics, improvised weaponry, and modified vehicles to lead insurgent attacks on EDF targets. Launch attacks based on your own gameplay style, take on missions in any order you choose, or engage in destructive activities to weaken the EDF's grip on Mars.

Strategic Destruction - Use destruction to your tactical advantage, setting ambushes or chain reaction explosions to attack enemy strongholds and permanently modify the game environment. Leverage fully-dynamic physics-based destruction to improvise on the fly: blow holes in a wall or floor to set an ambush or escape, take out a staircase to stop your pursuers, or drive vehicles through blown out walls.
Evolving & Emergent Gameplay - Carve your path through an ever-changing landscape as you improvise your combat tactics - mixing gameplay styles, vehicles, weapons and explosives to defeat the EDF.

Epic Sci-Fi Setting - Explore the huge, unforgiving Martian landscape, from the desolate mining outpost of Parker to the gleaming EDF capital city of Eos; then tear through the fully destructible open-world environments swarming with EDF forces, Red Faction resistance fighters, and the downtrodden settlers caught in the cross-fire.

Multiplayer Combat - There is no place to hide when you put your guerrilla warfare skills to the test in a variety of highly destructive multiplayer combat modes.

If ever a game deserved a remaster it is this. Underrated gem. A pity the follow up went all Gears of War and ended up being more like Gears of Crap.
About £3 on a previous steam sale, with free “Remaster” update for steam owners of the current version

I did not know about the free update! I have this sitting in my library and didn’t even know I owned it until I just checked!!
Get yourself to Mars
Never mind this version Red Faction the original was a classic... I rarely actually finish a game and I finished that on the ps2!
No offence to the game, but how is this game getting a remaster?? and games like Onimusha doesn't even have a single whisper about a remaster, Capcom needs to get of their lazy ass, and stop making million street fighters, one single game has like 3 different versions. no one cares about street fighter anymore,

Onimusha has licensing issues as I heard. And I think I heard from someone that the first two in the series cannot be remastered due to all the backgrounds being images and it is not possible to be upscaled. A remake would be possible, subject to resolving the licensing issues but that means more capital investments for Capcom who is not very brave with taking risks for remakes.

Capcom like low risk - low involvement remakes/remasters... that sounds like hard work - lets just release Street Fighter two again...

Who wouldn't? I have been watching playthroughs of Oni 1 and 2 just over a month ago on Youtube after a long time. Had so many good memories with that game It was a perfectly balanced game in terms of actions/puzzles.
Remaster of a remade red faction which one was this ? Isn’t it bc on 360? Anyway

this has been in the back of my mind to do this too, but i always think ahhh lets not, if they ever make a remake/remaster everything will be like new experiences again, because it has been years since I've even seen any game play of the game.

but i do suddenly get the urge to go back and see the opening scene of oni1 or was it oni2, whcich is amazning.

The original is most definitely a classic, up there with Half-Life, Duke Nukem and Doom for me. Red Faction 2 needs to begone to room 101 never to be spoken of again!

Red Faction 3 while fun is a little sparse like alot of open world games. Like the Just Cause series you can spend time blowing things up in interesting ways but it gets boring quickly. Fair price though.

The story sucked me in with the first one and it was the first game with destructible levels - walls and all that.

Good news there is Capcom have registered a lot of Onimusha titles so hopefully there will be a trilogy Remaster and a 4th game that isn’t a Dynasty Warrior shitty clone

hopefully more like dark souls, as you can clearly see, dark souls did inspire their game from the Onimusha series, like many other games.

you have made me very happy, thank you my good sir!!! now the question goes back to, how lazy and non-risk takers are Capcom?
Looks like this remaster still has the online portion of the game in there, I'm hoping they leave off the online trophies this time, they were quite terrible/hard/loooooong (if you were after the platinum).

Good deal for it though, £20-ish is fair.

The DmC HD collection is a wash out no real difference from PS3 but to be honest to be able to play Onimushia on a console that isn’t PS2, is fantastic news, just like the Shenmue rerelease I don’t care if it isn’t 4k HDR high end scale and polish
THQ Nordic is just pathetic. No new game released since they took THQ over. I know new Darksiders is coming but they are masters of remasters. Cant stand them, really. Even fixing a small issue like not working Darksiders 2 online trophies on PS3 was far too much for them (but still selling online passes on PSN Store, how cheeky).
The destruction tech on this was class last gen. Hope the remaster does it justice.
LOVED Red Faction when I played it years back. So is this that game I played years back remastered or is this a different game remastered - sorry if a stupid question
So many remasters.

Who asked for this? Same with Darksiders. Same with the endless stream of Yakuza games. Same with Bulletstorm.

All that talent remastering games could be used to make new IP's.

Ditto, just checked and already have it. The video in the OP says it's a free update for PC owners. 4k too. Looking forward to playing this again
Banjo Kazooie HD next please
There was always something so pleasing about smashing every outpost to pieces!
This is absolutely the remaster nobody asked for. Jesus, this is scraping the barrel...
I cant believe this is being remastered. I wanted it to be but never thought it would be. Cant wait!!!
