Red Mountain 95g Jar of Coffee £0.55 instore @ Co-operative

Found 8th Nov 2015
Was in the Co-op last night and picked up some 95g jars of Red Mountain Coffee @ 55p (£0.55) each. Not sure if it is a national or local offer so wouldn't advise rushing out on a special trip to your nearest co-op store looking but worth having a look if you happen to be in one anyway. Didn't have a reduced to clear ticket just a normal white price ticket.

Glad to hear it's going to be a standard price as I thought it was pretty darned cheap but wasn't sure if it was national or local
better off buying a jar of bisto, will taste better. personally would choose not to drink coffee than drink this
Does this still taste like that old Camp coffee?
I think this is the same stuff they sell in Pound land and its really 'dire'.
If its cheap coffee your comparing to illy or lavazza then you're foolish but if on tight budget its not really as bad as the toffs on here are protesting - 55p/95g !!!
I hate how decent "names" have been bought up by companies and the contents substituted for vile cheap ingredients. Red Mountain coffe used to be very nice, as did Cafe Noire etc. All foods seem to be going this way too.
I've had this coffee from budget stores before selling for around a pound it's very palatable coffee with a bit of coffee mate in it compared to the gold blend type stuff I normally get if I saw this in my local co-op I'd buy it
This stuff taste like it has no coffee in it. We always have cheap coffee at work but this is easily the worst we have ever had.

Mmmm must admit I've no idea what it's like as I don't drink coffee but wouldn't expect it to taste like a premium brand at this price...I guess at this price it may involve lowering your expectations a bit...I just bought some as my OH drinks a heck of a lot of coffee and I thought it would save a little bit and well to be completely honest I really couldn't care less how good/bad it is especially as I'm not drinking it...lol...put it this way it was really cheap and if I just shove it in the coffee jar he won't have a clue what he's drinking...be interesting to see if the coffee placebo effect works....i.e. if he thinks he's drinking one brand and there is no visible label showing he may still think he's drinking that brand...besides if he says anything I'll just lie and tell him that it said new and improved on the label!!!

Ditto - last I heard of "Red Mountain" coffee would have been TV adverts in the 1980s!
There's nothing wrong with it.
I have to say this is horrible and I'm no toff but this stuff is bad
Weird how some of the best coffee you can buy is blue mountain and the worst red mountain.
This is like Mellow Birds and Lyons coffee. Not my cup of tea, but if you like it what a cracking price!
Hot
This is normally £1 in poundshop

Think you should possibly read my previous comment (post 10) as that's exactly what I said I was going to do...I was responding with my next comment (very tongue in cheek it has to be said) to the poster saying that the Red Mountain coffee was the worst ever

Yes, It is always £1. You might already aware of, poundshops hardly do a special deal as £1 is already very cheap .....
For those that think if you blind tested someone they would not know this is rank - think again.
Our boss bought it at work and everyone commented how awful it tasted ( we weren't aware of what he had bought he just emptied it into the coffee tin). It does not even smell or taste of coffee at all.
And we normally have cheap stuff ( like the Nescafe international blend sold at cheap shops ).
