What's it do ?

What are the thoughts on this stuff, I've recently started using Shell v-power and have noticed the car drives much smoother and fuel consumption seems to have reduced slightly. It's more expensive than redex but I've often wondered if it's good for the car to just bung a shot of this in no matter which fuel is used or how big the tank is?

Vpower definitely makes all the difference I don't get as great fuel economy but performance is definitely better. Turbo kicks in better too imo. I just use diesel cleaners now and then for preventative maintenance especially after using normal quality diesel. But if you're always using vpower then you probably don't need this as much but doesn't hurt to try I guess.

It cleans up sludge and deposits in the fuel system and diesel injectors just to stop it clogging up over long time use
Normally pick a few up when they are cheap. Recommended for diesel cars, like the OP I use them to try and prevents issues. I use my car for decent journies but a while back I got a DPF light and the car went in to limp mode which is annoying as. Since using products like this occasionnally its worked well with no DPF lights/limp mode.

It would be good find out if this stuff really works. I use Forte Diesel Turbo Cleaner and it does the job just it costs way more than Redex.

Check your handbook - chances are the manufacturer will advise against snake oil!

V power diesel actually has lower power potential as oil is replaced with additives

It may clean but by no means should make more power
shell vpower seems to improve smoothness with my 2.4 turbo diesel. I'm also convinced performance improves with my car too.

not sure about redex, i though it helped with my old 1990 g reg rover, but that was a long, long time ago!
