I used to have terrible dandruff until a friend said I should try Redex Diesel System Cleaner. After just a week there was no sign of dandruff on my shoulders at all AND the bonus was that my numbers came up on the National Lottery; so now I'm a millionaire too. Best snake oil I've ever bought and I'd recommend it to anyone. Thanks Redex!

no it only cleans out your wallet. Snake oil. If it was any good the fuel companies (Shell, Esso, Castrol etc) would either put it in fuel or sell you a version. Holts R&D team for all products is only 5 people holtsauto.com/pro…nt/ whereas Shell spend many millions on fuel and additive development. That tells you all you need to know. Do you think REdex have banks of engines on test?

I know this sounds a bit daft but how do you get it in the tank past the metal seal thing that only pushes open for the petrol nozzle!

Just treat it like its the nozzle
Heat added.. great price. Highly rate these products, also diesel injector cleaner and DPF cleaner. I have got a 1.3 CDTi Corsa and I was having some DPF issues (limp mode), I use the car mainly for longer journeys and think it’s down to age and use over time rather than short journeys etc... however since using products like this periodically, it has stopped any issues. If I can find these I will get a few in
Will check my local B&m tomorrow. Using redex on every full tank on my xc90. Excellent stuff

Failing that try asda, it's either £2 or £2.50 there for the same pack.

It's a pretty good scam, been going on for nearly 100 years!
It is not financially viable for the petroleum companies to add it. If it adds 1p to each litre of petrol it's 1p less profit. It's not really a product that needs to be run all the time. As for why Shell don't offer their own version? I would think because of demand. The market is big enough to support one brand. Trying to displace a 100 year old brand isn't easy.

Does it work? No idea. Using it every 3-5k means it will cost you £2 for 2 years worth. I use a shot every 6 months before I service the car. Yes I could be wasting 33p but I could be saving much more by not having clogged fuel injectors. You pay your money and take your choice. I'm sticking with 33p.
Watching this thread is like watching the thread on are the higher octane fuels worth it.
In my experience in all my cars redex made a difference and helps keep things clean . Whenever you want to decoke an engine you can leave the parts covered in redex to clear the coke deposits off.clearly if you have coke deposits in places that's aren't affecting your performance too much, it will help, but you will not notice a performance increase, rather it will prevent a problem getting worse.

And I mentioned high octane fuels, most people who didn't see a difference use them on small low powered engines or where engines do not take advantage of it in thier regular software programming. Again in all my cars I have noticed a difference in the high octane fuels and diesel versions.
A lot of people have doubts about this product, but I have used both the petrol and diesel solutions for my 11 years old 1.8 petrol Toyota Corolla Verso, and my 2 years old Hyundai Santa Fe 2.2 diesel cars.
From my personal experience, it does seems to work for me. In the Toyota, I was getting between 10-15% better economy in mileage from before and after using Redex, engine was also a lot more responsive as well. I have used Redex for the Toyota over a year and added it in every other tank full up.
The Hyundai been my first diesel and been a new car, I was a bit reluctant in adding additive into fuel, but after 1.5 years, I thought I'll use Redex again for the last 2 months. Started with a bottle of DPF cleaner, then Redex every other tank of fuel again, the car definitely feels a lot smoother and much more responsive. Economy wise, I'm beginning to see around 5% improvement running the same route.
Again, just personal experience, so don't flame me been a fan boy 😁
Read your handbook. The manufacturers will tell you NOT to put additives in your fuel. That's good enough for me!
Is this to be used on a full tank? So pour this in then fill up? Or fill up tank then pour some of this in?

Doesn't matter according to the bottle. I didn't notice much of a difference tbh.
My local B&M doesn't sell this 😣

There are markers on the side of the bottle. I fill a notch/marker of Redex in before filing my tank.
