This is the deal of the week.

Really?
Hot price, useless product.

Personally I buy pet snakes, liquidize them, then add 10ml to every diesel fillup. Gives me an extra 10mpg and 40HP.

I'd wring them real hard and get the oil to secrete from their glands....;)

Really?

Yes
I buy used car from bca every 6 months to sell. This is a life saver, if you find it, get it.....
This stuff works great for that placebo effect.
If you want something that actually does work especially on diesel engines but costs a lot more try 'Forte fuel additive'

It's for carburettor cars if that makes any difference!?

Modern cars don't have carburettors.
If you have a vintage car you would be better getting the carb stripped down and ultrasonically cleaned if you really care about your classic car.

I was told this too. It is what garages use apparently. Not sure if it's true, just what I was told.
Protective covers that garages (used) to put on your seats after a service also make the car run better or at least make you think it does, even the paint looks shinier.

Its true. The first time I used Forte was on a diesel ford that had failed its mot on sky high smoke emissions and the garage told me to get some forte.
I chucked it in the tank and briskly drove it for about 30 miles and returned it for its mot,
The emissions were now really low and the car was transformed.
what is it
its a fuel additive. been using it for years. I use a mixture of 1ml per 1litre of petrol, what it does, it cleans the carbon deposits in the combustion chamber, which in turn means a cleaner engine. which means a slighter higher mpg. also means you dont have to take out your spark plugs and check them every 6months. And its not a placebo.

Ford Escort 1.6l, fuel injection. i dont put it in every time, just every other time. at this price i might buy another 2 bottles.
I use the red bottle.
TBH giving your car a good thrashing once in a while will do more good than any additive.

Most cars will 'coke up a bit' if they are always idling or are driven start/stop in urban areas. Especially diesels.

Give it some load up a hill, use 3/4 throttle and most of the rev range.

Job done for a much happier car.

Either just buy a tank of V Power / Ultimate every so often or get a real professional fuel additive such as Fast Exocet from your local motor factor
Forte and/or liqui-molly tried and tested
crap useless
why it's so cheap
To all the people saying this doesn't work... you must have new cars with good engines. I put this in my 23 yr old Corolla and I've seen definite improvements in fuel efficiency and engine efficiency. I also use fuel injector cleaners. Drives better than a hybrid
What does 'drives better than a hybrid' mean?
Not in my store. Still £3.
Jason Plato reckons it does a job.

Agree you can 'feel' the difference. Deffo not a placebo

Just had the vanes cleared on my galaxy diesel. Engine was shutting off as soon as I hit 60+ mph. mechanic sorted it out and took it for a spin on motorway and I could hit 70 without a issue.

when you say a good thrashing, what exactly do you mean? just take it uphill on a low gear and high rev?

whats once in a while? once a week? once a month? Car does mainly town driving which is not ideal for a diesel. now that winter is here, looking for best ways to manage the car so the vanes don't get blocked again.

No when did I say 'feel'? I have what is known as a mileometer. You can cleverly use that to measure how many miles you get out of each tank of petrol. This stuff may not be the best product but it still does work.

Diesel engines like to be driven hard, a 5 mile blast down the motorway in 4th gear every week or so should do the trick.
Also go to a decent motor factors and buy a battle of 'Forte' diesel additive and it will cure any clogged up injectors and egr valves.
Redex is useless in modern cars despite what some people on here may believe.

that wouldn't mess up the engine, right? what speed we talking about in 4th gear? I guess the nights are drawing in so a blast once a week should be ok.

its my first diesel car...never again...too much peeing about.

No it was a Ford but I do know a lot of main dealers including VW and defo Vauxhall stock Forte for their mechanics to use on clogged up engines.

Forte diesel additive is a 'trade only' product and it states that on the label.
But it can be bought from Amazon and proper motor factors.
I would also bet the mechanic who fixed your car stuck a bottle of it in your tank.

the mechanic gave me a bottle of something after he'd worked on the car and cleared the vanes. he said fill up half a tank of fuel, stick the whole bottle in and take it for a spin. I'll get name of product tonight and post. it was a think black bottle.

That defo sounds like Forte he gave you with you saying a black bottle.
And yes you add the full bottle to half a tank of diesel or in extreme clogged up cases you can use it neat straight into the fuel filter.
