Redex fuel system cleaner £5.99 Three for two deal @ B&M

Found 3rd Feb
Amazon sell this for £5.49 each so three for £5.99 is a real bargain. Also the same price for petrol cleaner.
B&M is a big company so I assume this would be nationwide seeing as it is on their web site.

Why not use a good quality fuel instead that contains the higher cetane in the first place and has a complete package of additives that Redex alone does not provide?
£2 a bottle at Wilko.

yep 3 for 2 = 1.9967p/ bottle so no saving to speak of over Wilko or Tesco at the moment

Good if you have neither near you.
£4.50 in Asda at the moment. Leftover stock where available.
Save your money and get some Miller's Ecomax
I think £2 in Tesco as well

Usually in larger asda's. The 24 hr one I went to had about a dozen packets but the medium sized store & smaller store that are closer to me don't stock and redex (packs or single bottles)
Pointless additive for your motor

Also£4.50 at the Range
They have them in 99p shop
People still buy this and think it works? Wow. There is a reason this stuff costs £2 each and the proper stuff nearer £20 a go. It’s like coke, Tesco value coke is not coke nothing like it completely cheap and nasty and pointless. Same as this stuff
I bought a bottle from B&M today, didn't have this offer mentioned in my store.

Explained on the first post.
It's still snake oil at any price.

The manufacturer is remarkably vague about what's actually in it and don't provide any evidence that it actually works.

Proponents of Redex often point to this old video to justify the claims. Although there is a reported improvement, the presenter is very clear that this is a one-off benefit in an older vehicle and there is no point in continually adding the product - those who keep adding it are wasting their money. The test methodology is also suspect although without more detail it's hard to be sure how robust the test is.

The 3 bottles for £4.50 works out ar 1.5p/l or the £2 Tesco bottles are 2p/l. Premium diesels are typically at least 10p/l over standard.

A lot of debate over the usefulness, but will give it a go on my 10 yr old diesel car, though probably just use it occasionally so the multipack should last a few years.

You're completely missing the point. Why not permanently keep your fuel system clean rather than using poor quality fuel that clog it up in the first place? You negate the performance and economy advantages that a superfuel gives.

Never said poor quality fuel. You can get standard diesel that is clean and cheap..

You also forget that distribution agreements in place between the fuel retailers and refineries that call for petrol stations to sell fuel from the nearest refinery in the area, regardless of the brand. The additives in the superfuel may be added at the refinery or even into the stations fuel tanks.

You just need a station with a high turnover and avoid using it when the fuel tanks at the station are low, or have just been filled by tanker, as contaminants will have been stirred up.

Standard fuel is not a super fuel.

Sure - supermarket tanker drivers can be ordered to pick up fuel from all sorts of different depots. Maybe Shell. Maybe BP. Maybe Esso. Maybe who knows? However, that's why the supermarkets cannot advertise the fuel economy, engine cleaning and emissions benefits of their fuels. But Shell, BP, Esso, etc. can.

Because obviously, that is public information readily available...
