Here we go... Snake oil versus anecdotal. I reckon its good for an Italian tune up on my 20 year bmw, just before an emissions test...

Delivered in one to two months?

Also, its £2 in Tescos...

I've tried these honestly don't think it made any difference

It definitely works as I’ve used it on a Merc 190E that had been standing for ages. The engine ran like a dog, but after using Redex it cured the rough running.
2 quid for 2 tanks = worth a shot in my book.

Thanks heated

Indeed, cheaper than using premium fuel...
Any diesel versions of this
I feel these things work on older engines, not so much newer more efficient ones.
Diesels need this sort of thing far more than petrol cars do
I do use these kind of stuff different brands occasionally yet I can't say if these makes any difference as I never felt any.

What about adding 1 litre of unleaded into 50 litres of diesel full tank?

For sure, but older petrols need help on the emissions test at MOT time.

Modern diesels are even worse, with EGR valves and DPFs getting clogged up, you'll need more than a bit of redex... I use a proper additive every other tank with mine. And a good blast up the motorway twice a month.
I had a diesel that has running issues and using other more expensive brands of these things did fix it but it took ages and issues would come back, ended up needing the EGR blanking off and having a remap that fixed it.

I've seen on the VW forums people swear by a bottle of bg244. My mechanic used to give me some German stuff I couldn't pronounce. Not sure where/how he got it but that's the one that seemed to clean up the engine

Yeah they do a diesel version and I think you can pick it up at Wilkos for £2 at the moment
Thanks, Op. I deffinitely see a difference when using this stuff, as I do the same route throughout the year. Same time of day, same traffic, and get 49 mpg with this additive, and 43 mpg without it.

No deffo not that, I don't even reneger it having a name, more like an unbranded bottle, like just tons of health warnings and maybe the words injector or diesel. I'm sorry it was years ago. Been a hybrid driver for 3 years now and my costs are less than half, also the Italian car to Japanese car factor there with reliability and maintenance costs...

Interesting...just about to take a 2.3-16v out for an mot. It's really needy on it's octane, runs rough on ye olde bog standard 95. Bloody expensive to drive; a tank of the good stuff is 90quid plus and i get just over 200miles if I drive v.v. gently!!

They’re beautiful cars, built like tanks and will run and run. The 190E I had was the bog standard 2.0 4 speed auto. It had been standing for over a year and the local Merc garage wanted £4K+ to clean the engine, 3 bottles of Redex did the job far more cheaply!
Any diesel at this price. I could t find
