Some see this as a waste of time, however if it improves the chances of an older car passing emissions by cleaning off gunk that is causing a dirtier combustion then it is a cheap fingers crossed at this price.

I assume this is similar kind of stuff but just to testify that these things do make a difference. I used this moto-booster on a scooter that we neglected and it worked great... Before I really struggled just starting it (had to use quick start spray and even then it didn't like it and wouldn't Idle (had to keep the throttle on) I first tried fresh fuel and giving it a good run but afterwards it still conked out, (I was having this trouble back in the summer when it was warm too) gave up neglected it some more then bought this a couple weeks ago added a capful to the tank, had issues starting it again especially with it being cold, but once I finally got it started and gave it a run for 10 mins it runs super smooth, has started first time the last few times i've tried and hasn't stalled it's self idling since.

A better way to clear things up believe it or not is give your car a good Italian tuneup. Doing that just before an MOT will typically get the catalyst nice and hot so it works more efficiently. As far as additives are concerned Redex is 99% bulking agent. There are far better additives out there that will do a better job. Tbh if your car fails on emissions then you've most likely got a faulty sensor, catalyst or injector/s etc..

Thanks MUFC.
What do you recommend (alongside the blow out by giving it a fast ride) as a branded petrol additive?
It is a Smart 450 that I have tidied up to pass on (low mileage, under 30k warranted miles) to my daughters mate (but that went down the pan when they had a blow out yet to cool, so I anticipate she'll learn to drive in it in another year, so apart from "premium" petrol I'm looking to keep things from gumming up, it only does fortnightly runs (to blow it out & charge the battery) of 40 odd miles, therefore I do want it cleaning as much as possible considering it is 17 years old, ..but a little darling of a car.

Personally not a great fan of additives, However if you're going to use them then Sea foam is arguable the best on the market.
Thankyou. .MUFC. will check it out!
These are a rip off when you see what's actually in them. Petrol is naphtha (white spirit), diesel you can buy the real thing, 2ehn that will treat your car for 1000L+ of fuel for £13. Give more power and mpg.
