Nope, I have bought alot from these now - They ship them in from HK in bulk to a EU dispatch centre, and its sent to you from there - so no customs charge. I only bought the handset to see if I like the skin they put on their software, was very impressed with it

Yes, I'm typing this on my Argos redmi6 i picked up for £70, 2 weeks ago
yes, I would like to pay a little extra to get Redmi 7.
What version of Android does this come with ?
I have this phone , its excellent for this money and ideal for people who want a more compact phone . Antutu benchmark is around 75k , which is fast for this sort of money.
Both face and fingerprint unlocking work well . Twin rear cameras for decent bokeh effect on portrait pics. GPS works really well ( MTK chipset phones USED to have poor GPS - but not now)
This phone is ideal for people upgrading from a 5" phone who do not want a bigger phone.

The Redmi 7 is a a bit better than the Redmi 6 ,but not a massive improvement unless you want a bigger screen ( remember this means a bigger, heavier phone).
I also have it and it does me just perfectly I don't need anything fancy (compared to my old phone this is very fancy)

I had my heart set on the 6 or 7 but then I kept seeing more people complaining about the notifications issue. Is it an issue for you or what's the situation with the notifications.
I don't know what the issue with notifications is , or if the issue does NOT happen on the Redmi 6 .

When i get a notification on my Redmi 6 ( SMS or Gmail ) i get the notification tone and screen pop-up . If i miss it the notification light on the phone ( yes it has one) flashes to show there is a notification that hasn't been read.
When you unlock the phone there is the message count on the app's icon ( gmail , SMS etc ) on the home screen , and pulling down from top of screen shows notifications ( as it should).
I don't use whatsapp , facebook app , snapchat etc on my phone ( so don't know if there is issues with those/ other apps )

There are better phones if you want a bigger screen like the redmi 7. The redmi 6 with its 5.45 screen is better for some
