Fair point plus the extra ram
Got the note 4 version, excellent phone , battery starting to drop now as 2 year old and unfortunately not easy to replace as sealed unit so tempting to buy this one

This is leaps and bounds above note 4, don't hesitate, unless you fancy the Note 8??
I bought the N6 pro for £99 last month. Is it worth upgrading to this?
Why is it showing £149 and £169 for me?
OK.. Found the reason. You have to go to the purchase page where a discount is given

Me too, I'm in the same situation. Though for me it's not the battery of the note 4. Let's look together for a new deal!
I'm still on the note 3 pro. Just flashed havok ROM onto it and its like a new phone. Almost 4 years old. I know what brand I'll be buying next.
I'm interested in what havok ROM is! Why would you replace the factory miui system? Curious about these hacks/mods as they seem popular, and are they difficult to do? But what do you gain? Any comments appreciated.
Sooooo tempted. Or I might wait for the Mi 9T / K20 to reduce.

I'm tempted with the A2 for better memory and simpler Android One. I'm not bothered by reduced camera resolution at 20MP nor the non-notch display. But reduced battery at 3000mAh mmm. Also prefer headphone jack on A2 all at £139!

Correction: no headphone jack on A2 same the Note 7.

Note 7 64GB or Mi A2? What is good about the Mi A2?

Think I'm preferring the better battery and better camera of the note 7

Note 7 has a headphone jack
Ok, so after a bit of digging around the Note 7 is slightly ahead of the A2. Tempted with Note 7 at 64GB ... but the Xiaomi MIUI non-stock interface is a potential put off. Does anyone have experience of the MIUI presentation?

After reading about the Xiaomi MIUI overlay on top of the stock Android there seems to be an issue with embedded adverts. Techradar India has highlighted this irksome feature ... techradar.com/in/reviews/redmi-note-7-pro/2

If the A2 had the 4000mAh battery and 3.5mm jack I'd have gone for that. The ads issue on the Note 7 is a put off. So neither for me at present and I'll keep looking.

Edit: i.e the Mi A3 is Android One, 4000mAh battery and a 3.5mm jack, Snapdragon 665.

There are no red phones available unfortunately.
For those of you brave enough, you can modify the Note 7 to replace the standard MIUI in order to remove the embedded adverts. It's interesting to note the comment about unofficial malicious sellers modifying phones (see sublink to unlocking the bootloader)

There's no adverts in the os you can't turn off. Think it varies per region but there's no need to unlock the bootloader, MIUI is fine once you get used to it.
Got this on previous offer. Great screen & camera.
Has anyone got Gmail notification bar alerts working?
Considering flashing a custom ROM as is only issue I have with miui.

I replaced my battery no issues. Just YouTube it and don't be scared to get stuck in... Ten minute job

You're looking at the India techradar site here - I'm pretty certain the ads have been turned off for the European market.
I have a 4 GB Note 5, is this a worthwhile step up?

Marginal benchmark difference, smaller battery, more memory for more money.
Twice as much storage and 50% more ram for a little bit more money seems a good deal to me

Decision made! I ould debate the pros and cons on either side. The A2 deal was great too. 6gb is a huge amount of ram and very attractive. They are all good phones for the price

I finally decided to purchase Note 7 64GB via the MiStore app, only to find it does not accept UK post codes without spaces and then automatically fills in the City field with a non-postal region name that can't be changed. There is a large message saying to make sure the address is correct. I've lost the will to buy via the app and the website is not much better plus I lose the £5 discount! I went to Carphone Warehouse today and physically examined the Huawei P Smart 2019 and Honor 10 instead.

The app was a nightmare for me too: wouldn't accept any version of post code! Once i'd fixed that, I couldn't checkout via app!

I ended up adding address to account on website, using app to add phone to cart, then paying on the site. Website wasn't too user friendly either. Got the fiver off but wasn't worth my time!
£10 off per £100 has now expired, now £149

I've just bought a brand new Honor 10 Lite (not refurbished or graded) on eBay (Technolec_uk) for £139.99 after using a 20% discount voucher. I got this via the Discussions section where Mr Switch has a smartphone Megathread where certain deals are not valid on the Deals section. There is also a Huawei P Smart 2019 for £126.39 after 20% voucher.
