Reduction Schedule for Supermarkets ASDA, Tesco, Morrisons, Sainsbury's & CO-OP (Save up to 75% off)

I've put together the schedule of the times each of the large supermarkets start doing their in store reductions.

I know a lot of people post deals on here that are store specific, and can vary between stores and locations throughout the country. I also know a lot of people miss out on these reductions either because they are in the supermarket to early and most often or not, because they have arrived to late to catch these deals.

Most of these reductions are for fresh food which has a short date left on it, but is perfectly fine. I've even been lucky in the past and picked up non food items that have been heavily reduced, just because the store has discontinued the product.

The list below will help you judge when is the best time to arrive at your local/usual supermarket and hopefully grab yourself a bargain.

I will post link to newspaper artical that done a story on this to.

Supermarket rough reductions schedule
UP TO 25% OFF UP TO 50% OFF UP TO 75% AND UP
Asda Noon 5pm 9pm
Morrisons ----- 5pm 7pm
Sainburys 1pm 5pm 8pm
Tesco 8am 4pm 8pm
Co-op 8am 5pm 7pm

Sorry to put a downer on your hard work but I work for one of these retailers and can tell you that this info is not correct. We use a system that reviews expected sales and amount of stock on hand which then makes a reduction based on whether its expected to sell or not. The reduction times are also store specific.

I used to work for one of these retailers, and when I read the article and seen the time schedule, it was pretty spot on (for the company I worked for.)

Even though each store and company do reductions when and needed, this is only a ruff guide.

I went to my local Morrisons after work this evening (5.35pm) and they were just finishing up, reducing the pies & pasties that are cooked in store, so the time scale seems to be there or there about for at least 2 of these supermarkets.

The article made reference to MSE. Did you?

My local Tesco seem to do the best discounts on fresh food around 5pm each day, Trying to get anywhere near the reduced fridge is virtually impossible thou, one staff member reducing as slow as possible surrounded by a waiting crowd of regulars, who grab the stuff as soon as the yellow label is attached, hands come from all directions... Far to embarrassing for me to join the crowd I'm afraid.

Embarrassing and funny it may seem i saw a firward video posted about tesco which made me cry as how people have lost patience when it comes to food . The comments being heard in the video were not appropriate either calling people zoo animalsoO but when you think from the buyers point of view felt sory for them as what circumstances it must be for them to run for food mayb debt and goverment cuts .so try placing your self in there shoes mayb you would see something positive out of it . Im sorry im not having a dig at you:(

Ruff is supposed to be rough - but thank you for pointing out my error, it is not always easy when you have dysorthography.

These are not starving people who are on the breadline which you seem to be insinuating . If they were it would be basic food stuff they were buying, not reduced cream cakes and desserts , expensive cuts of meat, ready meals etc. You only have to look at the other items in their trolleys /baskets to realise that.
Even in the video you refer to the one chap has a massive Christmas or Birthday cake in his basket when he arrives at the reduced section , so no I'm afraid I don't feel sorry for these people.

Hahaha - good reply (I had to look that up)

With the Coop I find their reductions in a local near me are bad. I can go literally across the road and get it at a cheaper price and still well in date from Tesco's.

In Morissons today, items reduced heavily at 3.45pm. I had lots of chilled food for 15p and 19p so the 5-7pm is incorrect.

and on the other hand, my local morrisons do the 75%+ reductions at 8pm, and around 9pm do stuff down to 9p regardless of the original price. Another Morrisons close by do the 9p prices at about 7pm.

It also depends on how much stock they have left, they reduced a load of cheese the other day to 9p at around 2pm, but they must have had 300 packs, no point doing that many at 9pm as theres rarely more than a couple of dozen customers between 9 and 10.

Why is dysorthography such a difficult word to spell?

wrong for my local morrisons and tesco
