Buy some trainers, do Parkrun on a Saturday morning. It's amazing and free!
not wanting to preach. park run is brilliant. I got to 45 years old + before I did ANY exercise / started watching my diet. a combination of slimming world and PR has transformed my life in under 2 years.

7 stone lighter* and a hell of a lot fitter and boy....do I feel well. I love running now but never do more than 5k in one go and do it 3 or 4 times a week inc. the PR Saturday morning.

try it, love it, live it.

I’ve been holding out for treadmill reductions, this one isn’t on my shortlist but just wanted to say I’ve come across it a few times reduced to this sort of price so worth checking it’s got all the kit you need

I’d want a bigger discount if you have!!

Eh? Too early... people haven't had chance to make new year resolutions yet!

Will be a clothes horse by March... small ads at less than half price by summer!
Terrible treadmill. Rattles like hell!

Must have not assembled it correctly. Ours doesn't rattle at all and has been used extensively for the last couple of years.

I'd recommend to anyone considering it.
If you want to run just put on your shoes and get outside, no excuses just go.

I'm a regular runner but bought a treadmill so that I can continue to train when it is icy outside. Only used it a handful of times in the last year and it sucks balls. Most people who start running on a treadmill will give up soon as it is boring.

Use a good bluetooth speaker system and an old tablet or pad. Make a decent running video playlist on YouTube and crank the volume. I started off doing the c25k app on mine although I could already do around 5k, but shin problems were punishing me outside. The Reebok treadmills have excellent shock resist so ideal for anyone with a similar situation. I moved on to 5 to 10k app a d concentrated on getting my times down. Also bought a large ish floor fan that I can point upwards to give a good air movement.
Little things can make the treadmill time more enjoyable.
The coat hanger rails look a bit short

Ref above message
Voted hot and hard but before I buy it can anyone show me either on the packaging or the machine how it sucks balls Can’t wait
Its ideal for exercising when the weather is nor too good, Put a TV on in front of it to watch and the exercise time flies by. However, I dont know about this one, but the Reebok z series (8 and 9) have some sort of manufacturing fault in that the Main Board conks out after a couple of years... Just after the warranty runs out... And Reebok wont help at all.

Mine is a ZR9 which suffered from this fault, (Does not turn on, just beeps all the time) and Reebok want over £100 to send an engineer out and £65 for the board... Many many people have similar problems. You would think they would have the decency to offer some sort of discount to repair as its been accepted as a manufacturing fault.

So ours is an expensive piece of metal hogging space in our shed!

I'm a regular runner and will go out in all conditions including ice, but I can't leave the house when I'm looking after my young children on my own so a treadmill is a godsend for me. I don't particularly enjoy running on it but it's better than not running.
I recommend anyone to run in all weathers, especially when it’s raining as I can drive my car through puddles and soak you

Asthma makes it harder for people like me
£19 Quidco too on this.
Absolutely ruined my knees. worse than running on the pavement

just curious. does asthma stop you walking at ANY pace? just do Park run and walk round with the tail walkers, brilliant morning out.
Depends on how cold it is you’d probably be fine doing that however I’d personally run on a tread mill for shorter time than do something like that

Running is boring full stop unless you are sprinting which no one manages for more than 5 mins...cycling is slightly better as at least the scenery changes are reasonably speedy.

Can you please share your shortlist? I have no clue about treadmills but urgently need one as I need to get fit for my cancer surgery.

Would appreciate recommendations, thanks

Running is addictive so how can it be boring?
Expensive clothes airer if you’re not committed to use it.
An expensive ornament for the back of the garage and will sit lovely with all the AS SEEN ON TV workout equipment

Agree. Most people can but my mum is nearly 70 and sometimes it’s great that she can still excercise when it’s raining 😄

Sometimes it’s not so much about the pace. The cold weather affects asthmatics more than the effort

What a pointless comment. Why comment on a post about a treadmill if you feel like that? I imagine sitting on the sofa is ‘slightly’ better than both running and cycling for you.
can anyone advise how suitable/loud it'sfor flats ? Last time I heard treadmills are terrible for the neighbour below you.
We bought the next model up (Jet 300) about a year ago. On the Jet 100, I felt the running deck was a bit too narrow at 43CM. Maximum user weight (a good guide as to how sturdy the machine is, and how powerful the motor is) is also a bit tight.

Reebok treadmills in general - ours did develop a fault, but Argos/Reebok were happy to send an engineer out to replace the faulty parts and service the machine.

Hey Meem, I’m probably going to get the DKN EZRun but the Reebok GT60 is next on my list... these are around £600-£700 mark so I’m taking my time but I was leaning toward the Reebok GT40S for budget... since we are already runners but needing it to fit around some new circumstances I didn’t want to have anything with too small a belt or power... best of luck with your treatment!
