Oops- thought this was a different graphics card to my previous deal which had gone out of stock.

I'll let mods decide if this one should be taken down or not.

Anyway, it is back in stock if anyone missed out last time.

The one I bought seems fine but did have some big scratches on the case to the bare metal.

No HDMI as VGA port, 2 x Display Ports. The are business machines. I would have thought 2 monitors could be used, maybe even 3 will all connections. Have a look at the manual: dell.com/sup…a3&

Signed up to the mailing list when I missed out on the last one. Bagged one this time. Pop an SSD in and it should do me for a good few years.
Also bought one after waiting since the last bunch sold out

what you are calling HDMI is actually DisplayPort.
Could this run current gen games in 1080p with a better gfx card?

I'm thinking a GTX960?

They have just emailed back as the phone numbers don't connect. They only way to run 2 monitors would be via a splitter and not direct from the pc
Even though its an older Haswell PC, Dell have a shiny new Spectre-proof BIOS available for users (dated 27 Feb 2018):

The CPU's good for it, the included graphics card isn't. If you try to replace it you might find the power supply isn't capable of outputting much power and graphics cards consume a lot so could easily overwhelm it. Take care.
A small gtx 1050ti would fit
Great price and purchased. I'll have to stick it in a new case so can somebody advise the size of the motherboard? Is it a non standard size? The manual doesn't say. Thanks
I've gone for it.

The CPU is still very good. I might swap for my larger case and upgrade the power supply /GPU

Dell don't know wtf they're taking about. Not exactly a shocking revelation

Whether or not this machine can drive two monitors will depend on the outputs of the r7 250, not the ports on the mobo. (Which I believe is what the vga+2xdp1.2 refer to)

The r7 250 probably has 1xhdmi, 1xdvi and 1xdp, and can probably utilize all 3 simultaneously.

From the online manual it seems there are 3 sata ports with two in use so that would leave one. It also seems you can get in 1 3.5" drive and 2x2.5" meaning there should be room as well.
amazing price
A really good deal considering the cpu is worth at least half the price.

If the R7 250 can't do it you can pull that out and move to the onboard video which is 2xDP 1xVGA.
Fine for office tasks, probably not too great for gaming (Intel HD4600).

The PCI-E slot on these is officially limited to 25W IIRC, it's normally 75W for a full height slot. A GeForce GT 1030 is about your limit. PSU is 250W, so sticking a 1050Ti in will likely fail the PSU early even if it does work...

I um'd amd ah'd with other ITZOO HP and Dell SFF i7 4770 and 4790 deals. I bought when this was offered last time and posted as a deal on here. The graphics card seems a bit better and it has 16GB RAM. No SSD like the HP deal but swings and roundabouts.

Going to get Blue Iris software, probably a small SSD for Windows and the right HDD type and size to use as a home CCTV system. Obviously cameras, cabling and other things need to be purchased. Probably going to end up with a headache trying to decide which cameras and other things to get.

Yes, at good settings and FPS too.
Careful if using an old Dell mobile. I struggled to run an ati 7850 after upgrading the PSU to 600 Watts. It ran for a while then just wouldn’t boot (no idea why). Runs with a gtx 560 but wontt run an rx470 at all.
I use one of these at work, can fit a 1050ti in there, not much more else. With an SSD inside, they fly. Heat added.

Source? As my Dell 990 SFF (the older version of this machine) with it's inbuilt 240w power supply ran a KFA2 750ti at full power (which is 60w) in a x16 PciE slot. This slightly newer system also has a bi-directional x16 PciE Slot so I don't know where you are getting 25w from?

The 1050ti low profile 'I believe' can run 75w minimum so as long as it fits it should be ok.

Oh and it is possible to run an external PSU on these machines but I doubt anyone would want to do that unless they got it dirt cheap (I was going to do that on my 990 - and even bought all the cables to do it - but I got offered a machine too cheap to let go so I sold my 990 before I got the chance to convert it)
