A cracking price for a great desktop. Quidco tracks as well at 20 quid so 729 quid.I took the 3 year warranty as well to protect it for 109 as I am a student.
The new one is available for students but with cover will cost 1000 quid. Go for it before it disappears

Post a better deal for the same desktop

gosh students r lucky - wish i had the cash in these days

Bought an i-mac last christmas for the first time, have not been disappointed. Good price for this product.

Once you go mac, you won't go back.

Just ordered the 2.93GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7 iMac £300 off.

I've never bought anything other than refurb from Apple and never had a problem.

Try saying that to a gamer.

You know you get 3 years warranty as a student on the new ones for free?

Possibly not. The refurb store always clears its decks at night - stock reappears in the early hours I believe.

Why not have both?

Yep! I've just been able to add it to my basket, though I didn't go any further.

If you want to get a good deal for a Mac, then have a look at BestBuy's special offer, 20% off* this weekend. Finishes Monday. Much better discount than Apple Student discount.

Fictorious

And as a student you would buy from the refurb store why?

Because even paying for Applecare the Op saved money - he's a student possibly doesn't have rich daddy to buy him a new Mac and maybe doesn't want to extend his student loan for no reason.

Run Leopard on a virtual machine on a windows 7 PC (if you really must) , save yourself the fleecing you get from Apple for 5 years out of date kit and have a PC to fall back on once you have stopped trying to convince yourself you made the right decision, oh and save lots of money !

I've had a Mac for the last several years, no problems, great for music, and web design. Doesn't crash. I paid for the 27 imac when it came out, 800 notes right place right time, inc iworks etc, `This a good price and they hang onto there value Heat from me

Beg to differ. My first two computers were a PowerBook 1400 and one of the original beige G3 Macs.

Since then I have only bought PCs. Oddly enough, I'm perfectly happy with them.

Let's not turn this into yet another boring flame war, eh?

Good price for a great Mac, if that's your thing..

It is mine, and I've just ordered one. Not sure whether to thank the OP or not, as I now have a rather large Mac shaped hole in my credit card!

My 27in iMac has just broken within 3 years - logic board costs over £520 so Applecare would have covered it. Sitting in the corner (looks new, still has stickers) but may as well be a foot rest.
The 'genius' at Apple quote HDD failure!

They're not that hard to fix yourself, just need a little patience. Some apple repair places will sell you parts (even though they're not meant to) - email around and ask. I replaced the GPU in mine and my friends as the older ones had an issue with overheating which caused them to fail.

Funnily enough, that's exactly how I feel about microsoft - everything they make is shoddy and low quality. Don't even get me started on how bad Office is....

Im sure a student can do with a much cheaper pc.

Well my friend pc's freeze, crash and blue death. Mac's well you can even have a double mac and you will still want more from it.

Please so no software for it. You microsft office, itune, safari, adobe Pshop, Final cut, music etc.. etc what is lacking Nothing. I no the price is but what is pc's worth in 5 months but macs hold its value and design is just sleek.

This is my Experience
Hot for me

Thanks for the heads up! Confirmed, back in stock again.

Also seems a better comment than some of the daft comments left on this thread!

Just remember that most of the refurb's there are OLD Apple models - not the new ones. I wouldn't say the prices are good as a result.

For the current models, most of them are only £40-50 cheaper than the student pricing (which has a cheaper applecare upgrade for 3 years cover). E.g. total inc Applecare from student store for one of the 27" iMac's £1495, from refurb store it's even more at £1538...
