I’ve had this laptop, in fact I am using the larger version t540. Good points, indestructible, easy to upgrade, plenty of updates, lovely keyboard, can change the dvd rom for a second hard drive, may come with windows 10 professional so has bitlocker included. Negatives, unless it’s the HD screen you will need to replace it, it’s quite straightforward to replace and will cost about £40, the t440 had the worst mouse pad, heavy. I changed the hard drive for a SSD using clone software, changed the screen. It’s then a great machine for the office and browsing. If you are into photography, change the dvd drive for a 1T hard drive and then store your photos on it. I’m assuming that the t440 has a removable dvd drive.

Very well written and detailed thank you.
For grade c definitely not worth it. Last summer, I bought t440s 128 SSD grade A+ for around £150

Don't expect to be playing any game's on it.
Can likely only good for office worker and web browser. Also, no mention of a HD screen other than gfx.
Having read the description of the thing it sounds like it has been pulled out of the local Civic Amenity Site!

IMO if you are after a lappy in this price range check out your local marketplace. I've done very well on mine.

Yes the Coda Spirit is agood deal but with limitations, the main one being you need to buy an m.2 ssd and boot from it.

It boots very fast without it as well. Much faster than hard disk. Only space is rather limited with out SSD , so you cannot store anything on it with out decreasing the 7gb free space needed for paging file etc .

SMG grade C is fine.

Everyone moaning about a T440, it’s Haswell i5, it’ll run rings round the Atom-derived cores in netbooks at this price, lots of ability to upgrade to SSD and RAM. Display is rubbish though, it’s HD and prone to pressure marks like all modern ThinkPads. But it’s £86 as well.

Agree with all that! T440 has no optical drive at all. Touchpad is rubbish but if you are a tapper it’s fine.
My recent experience with stockmustgo was excellent, though for a set top box rather than a laptop. Advertised as Grade B with no accessories included, it turned up boxed looking brand new and unused with everything included. It's a lottery..

That is because you bought a recent model. I also bought xbox from them at very good price and was delivered next day. These laptops are 7-8 years old , and people would have played football with them at their workplace . Plus many nasties will be hiding in the keyboard , dirtier inside than the average toilet .

They're 4-5 years old. Stop being so childish. SMG are professionals and will have made a decent attempt to clean and disinfect it. I trust you don't drive second-hand cars or sit in furniture in coffee shops either?
