Seems a bit on the heavy side for what it is.
You can buy a NEW HP Stream 11 for £40 more? And also I wouldn't trust Argos refurbishments I've heard a lot of bad things about them.

So you'd willingly spend £40 extra for that 'just new' smell?! I guess you must be new around here!

(Hot deal - shame it's in pink!)
i always buy refurbished or 2nd hand from ebay or amazon warehouse. means you get more bang for your buck!
Friend got one of these, popped windows 10 on from a usb, did a clean upgrade, is removed everything and it's very quick, impressed, for anyone whos interested windows was showing 89 processes running on a clean boot from Argos, after windows 10 62, think mcafee that's preinstalled pretty much kills it.

Id recommend using double driver to save all the drivers from windows 8 and if your not comfortable setting it up without a mouse grab a usb mouse too.

Honestly shocked how quick these are, was 12gb free space after upgrading to 10 and installing office 2013 that's including the old windows 8 install ready to rollback too

I didn't think they tended to be refurbished, the one's I've got tended to look like change-of-mind returns.
Very cold, as a balding man on the wrong of 50 I cannot imagine using on of these in a costa coffee in Islington

What would people think

Perhaps they would think your in touch with your feminine side!
That's not pink, it's magenta! (According to my wife) lol
I work as am IT refurbisher, there's nothing to be scared of, if the job's done properly the equipment will be good. You can always have failures but that is true of new machines. Quite often refurbished can mean a customer return with or without a fault, or just open box, ex demo stock which should work like new.

Just shout woo hoo and swing your handbag that's what I do.
Considering I'm blocked out of the PC due to password recovery nonsense and not having said usb Thankyou Bill Gates, I need one asap
I personally feel that you get better VFM with a BayTrail based 2-in-1 like the Linx 1010 ( with dock )and the ASUS Transformer T100 - the quad core 3735 SOC generally delivers a more rounded experiance, they both have the same 32GB eMMC storage but the battery will last longer on the ASUS and the 2-in-1's will both have far better screens as they are IPS unlike what you'll get on this - FAR more usable viewing angles. Yes the Linx and the ASUS will cost more, but there both available for a bargain if u look, and in my opinion, you get far more versatility for your money going that route.

You need to have made the USB, that's what it's telling you. If you didn't then you can't make one after you're locked out otherwise it would be pointless security! It's easy to remove the password from a standard user account, if you've logged in using an email address you need to know the password for that login and can't be removed as per user account method.

Why do you hold a grudge against Microsoft for keeping your data safe?! Literally the most silly of reasons to be annoyed.
paid 99 last week for same from same seller
machine was virtually new no signs of usage and in original box
I would recommend it at this price as I'm still happy paying 99
2.3kg & 11 inch - what the heck is this made of?

That must be wrong.

EDIT - it's 1.3 kg

It's not silly pish posh .... My account my password have always been the same till one day I went to add another admin now my password is void and I can't get back in with the correct password.... So now I've lost all my children's younger years and my work. Grumble grumble
BTW you will be able to upgrade to Windows 10 but will may need a USB stick to store the source/downloaded files especially if you've already installed other games etc

These are simply crap , waste of £90 and would severely do your head in trying to accomplish the most basic of tasks
Pay a bit more and try pick up a refurb thinkpad , be a much more prudent investment for the long term

Nonsense. You just clearly went in with unrealistic expectations.

Agreed you speak foolishness
That processor will run at 100% just opening notepad but it will run cool though!
?
i sell them , people buy them "cos they are cheap" then want it to sing and dance for them.
No matter how many times i tell them that you get what you pay for they still cant understand.
If they arent back in a day or two complaining that W10 wont update or it wont play GTA then they will be back in 6 months buying the next "cos its cheap" with the above chucked in the bin where it belongs in the year 2016.
Its usually parents buying them for the teenage offspring , the horror
Wife has one of these. Upgraded to Win 10 for free no problem through Windows Update.

Pros:
- Great keyboard, good response
- Screen decent and fairly sharp
- SD Card can be used to boost internal storage
- Amazing battery life, particularly in standby
- Bloatware easy to remove
- Snappy performance overall. Quick to boot and shutdown.

Cons
- Average viewing angles
- Very finicky trackpad. Couldn't get along with it. Recommend using a mouse
I have one of these in blue, great little machine and good for those times when you want a laptop without too much bulk. I find the size of the device and screen a good compromise between portability and usability.
Fingers crossed this appears in blue at this price. I can't bring myself to buying the pink one.

I agree with Stevie. Bought one of these for the girlfriend and, despite downloading almost nothing and simply trying to use it to watch Netflix, the thing still takes ages to load and crashes during streaming. Perhaps we were just unlucky though.

There is simply no way that the user account settings on a Windows computer have created a brand new password for your old account without your intervention. That just does not and can not happen.

If you are using a version of Windows older than Windows 10, then there are a number of ways to break into the account without losing any files. Just do a keyword search on Google and follow the how-to threads. & once you get your files back, make a backup! Hard drives fail about every 5-7 years...so you were more than likely always going to end up losing your 'precious' photos. At least this problem gives you some chance of recovery
same happened to me cannot get my photos

You can remove a user password on Windows 8/10 using Lazesoft (www.lazesoft.com) as long as it's not a login using an email password. There are ways and means to recover the data from your laptop. Use a local independent computer shop who have a good reputation.

I haven't used this laptop but I'd try this procedure:

Get in to the BIOS by going to the login screen and choosing restart this pc, hold down shift whilst clicking on restart. Now you'll get to a troubleshooting screen, you'll be able to get to the UEFI BIOS this way and then you should be able to disable UEFI boot and secure boot, then boot it with Parted Magic on USB stick, once that Linux distro boots you should be able to read all the files on your internal storage and transfer then to an external USB device. This is technical yes, but this is how some one could fairly easily access the data.

I have described one method of recovering your files in post #32, this may or may not be the procedure on your laptop. I can guarantee though that if your laptop/pc is perfectly fine hardware wise, it's very easy for some one to access your data files on a Windows pc. So take it to a local independent computer shop who should only charge you around £50 or less as it's not a difficult task.

Thankyou it's only a year old so finger crossed
Mine arrived today - covered in food crumbs and smelling of nicotine. Going straight back.
Can anything be upgraded on this bright thing?

picked one up for the wife looking for something compact and lightweight with decent battery life. It arrived in good condition and updated to W10 using a USB fairly easily though I needed a USB mouse to select options during installation.

I think this will be fine as a lightweight portable - it only really needs to surf the net and use Word (like most laptops) its not for gaming or video editing.

It does look a bit plasticy - but its only £90

Oh and it doesnt come with the cloud storage - that seems to have expired Dec 2015

Overall a decent deal - heat added
Now showing at £99 for pink or you can get blue for £109
