Seems to have been a few 3000RPM.com deals on here in the past, they seem to do allright, so I presume they are ok- Condition on the ebay one states: All good condition, just ex business lease

3000rpm have been around for years. They're well known in Dundee where they're based and generally reliable.

I sold t420 for almost same price , with 8gb ram and 1600*900 screen , this is okay

Would never use this site again. I ordered a refurb for my sister and it took nearly 3 weeks to arrive. They ignored all emails and had to call several times. When it did arrive, the condition was shocking. It had 2 missing keys and was scratched and dented to hell.

We had to open a paypal case in order to get a return and refund.

Awful experience.

Really could use a new laptop but unsure of this seller

It may have been a good laptop but it's ancient now ;-)

With so many T420/X220 deals I'd go for one of those, big arch improvement over older Core processors - at least Mobile ones

Any chance you could you point me in the direction of these, preferably something with a 15" screen or above?

I've recently ordered from this site, still await delivery (3 days so far) and have to say that the customer service thus far does't inspire confidence the product being delivered.

I recommend using a credit card when buying from website. Not that you will definitely need it but if you have problem and they ignore (as mentioned above), you can get the cc company to chase them.

The speaker grills running vertically down each side of the keyboard usually get dirty on these laptops, making them look a bit rammy, they're almost impossible to clean as well.

as always from the past topics from this seller i would never use them, and rather scctrade or ebay, same spec where it matters £18 cheaper (not counting smaller hdd since most will update it to SDD anyways) lecks windows 7 but thats not always a bad thing since some people rather use linux or others anyways, or just use a cheap key for windows 7,

scctrade.co.uk/pro…-b/

or if willing / know how to do some repair work can go with grade C for an even better price, (can still return them within 7 days if it turns out that whats wrong with it is not worth the time / cost to fix)

If you get a fairly small but stiff paint brush you can brush the grot out of the speaker grills and from the keyboard.

What's your feedback on the laptop now?

Just some feedback on this seller...

I ordered a T420 with 120 GB SSD and 8GB RAM upgrades about 5 months ago - turned up in good condition, except there was only 4GB RAM. Installed.

After a couple of emails, they offered to replace the laptop or send out the additional RAM for me to have fitted. I chose the latter and the RAM turned up a couple of days later.

So, not perfect, but all in all I'm happy with the seller and the deal.

the quality of SCC laptops have gone down the drain now.
the last few that i ordered were physically damaged, missing batteries etc.

Do some research on 'T410 fan error'... then go buy a different laptop!

We bought one a while back, and 3000rpm put a piece of paper saying to expect the error and 'do X Y and Z' to fix it. It's a temporary fix at best, the T410's pretty much all failed with a fan error. That's why 3000rpm have so many of them, and why it seems to be a 'bargain'.

oh didnt know that or whouldnt of commented.

i havent ordered from them in about 7 months, all the ones i got before from them ware great tho (about 20),

Bought a thinkpad from these guys last year, was exactly as described, little slow arriving but had a brand new still wrapped 9 cell battery!!! They were polite and friendly (if bored) when I spoke to them by phone.

Bought an X220 from them a few months ago, slow to arrive but very good condition.

My T410 is working well, bought from a local dealer for £200 a couple of years ago also was a refurb.
But I wonder if it will be upgradeable to Windows 8.1/10?

wished they had a downgrade facility as well.. to remove HDD , win7, CD drive

Could anyone tell me if this would be up to running Dreamweaver and other code related programmes? Obviously when this came out it was a top spec machine but would it be worse than a Chromebook nowadays?

There's a few decent condition refurb t420s on Amazon through third party sellers for £190. Seems like a better option for not much more.

I bought a refurb Thinkpad with a recalled battery. When I try to claim the replacement battery, I was told it had already been ordered (by a previous owner?)
