Cold, you could get a refurb 8GB 1st Gen Touch for £105 in October last year.

And believe me the lack of external volume control will drive you nuts, and the cost to upgrade to OS 3 is extra.

No, that's my point!!!

What gig is it? Need to put more in in the title.

My point is why would you? The 2nd Gen product has been out for over a year and it is worth the extra.

Thanks for putting on the detail!!

I picked one up from the o2 shop for £125 when they where on offer but that's dead and gone. Compared to paying £146 for a new 16GB nano this is a good deal and the touch is a brilliant piece of kit no matter which generation.

Not if you want something that will charge with older docking periperals, such as those that come in many cars. 1st gen will charge but 2nd gen won't without an extra dongle.

This thread is very useful for anyone on the lookout for a 1st gen touch or who wants to spend as little as possible an isn;'t concerned about bluetooth, low fidelity external speaker, etc.

Which is half the memory and another £20 if you need the charging dongle.

This deal is hot for some like me, cold for others who want the very latest features. Each to their own of course, different people have different requirements.

Got my wife a 16 gig version from O2 when they did their £125 deal a while ago. No problems with the no volume buttons (don't know why people go on about that?).

Good price, I might get one for myself. . .

i have genuinely heard today that these have gone down to 19.97 in pc world i am awaiting SKU code

Accoring to the guys over at GDGT which review all phones ;1 of the disscusions is that you have to pay to upgrade to the latest OS ie .. . flash it and it costs every time you do.Wud like 1 of these though as they have fast speed podcast which wud be handy when u missed what was said.Cut and paste i think has been added to the new OS

Do people not understand how to vote on here anymore?
Can you find a 1st Gen iPod Touch 16gb THIS CHEAP anywhere else? if the answer is NO then it's a hot deal as it's bound to help those in the market for it. Especially for people already with older sound docks as this one will actually charge in them.

Good find mate.

I got this from the O2 deal and it is a great bit of kit. New OS adds shake to shuffle as well which is handy. As for volume simply install pocket touch which lets you adjust volume by touching the screen and lets you advance etc. No need to get it out of your pocket. Easy enough to upgrade firmware for free too and then easily jailbroken.
I have loads of apps, a few pixar movies and loads of music and there are still a few gigs left.

Only problem will be finding a decent case for the 1st gens but eBay is your friend there. Try the belkin crystal case...perfect!

Voted hot by the way.

Cant believe people are voting this cold.

The GEN1 is still a classy bit of kit and £155 for an apple refurb (I've had a few and they have always been as new and never any issues) is a great price.

Now out of stock, but they do have the 8 gig model for £129.

hey i got a mint 16gb 1st gen touch for sale, had screen protector on and rubber sleeve from day one, boxed with dock charger and also mains charger, all in £120 delivered
